Very nice hotel situated just off oxford street and a short walk to regents park.Excellant rooms and facilities only shadowed by the ignornace and unreliablity of a minority number of its staff. Shame, but definatley worth a look!

This is a very nice hotel with a friendly staff. The location is a little removed from public transportation, but it is a pleasant walk. My room was booked at a discount but it was quite nice. I did have problems with housekeeping not servicing the room on three of my six days there. (They did after I called them.) My question for this hotel is: Why do you allow smoking in the public areas? Entering the hotel or leaving the elevator, one is assaulted by the strong fumes. At least the lobbly should be smoke-free so one can savor the elegant feel of the hotel upon entering and yet breathe at the same time.

Just got back from a night at the Langham and I have to say I cannot fault it at all. The staff were attentive, friendly and not pompous in the slightest. We were allocated a room on a high floor as requested and literally got the highest floor possible and a room complete with a view of the London Eye! I was concerned we would be treated in an inferior way to other guests as I had booked a cheapy internet deal but I never felt this at all. The concierge staff were excellent; we left our luggage with them for the day and it was returned to us promptly and exactly as we had left it. I can't fault the location either! Just a short walk from Oxford Circus tube station, opposite the BBC building and the obligatory Starbucks just over the road. Only a 15-20min walk to Leicester Square if you're feeling energetic and the same more or less to the British Museum. I would definitely stay again!! The only downside is that we didn't have chance to sample the health club and one of the lifts to our floor was broken and the only remaining one was tiny so we often had to wait for the next one (ok, so maybe that was one fault but it didn't put us off!).

Once we arrived at the hotel the Concierge instantly showed there friendliness and professionalism by directing us to the correct desk for check-in. Once we had settled into our room, which was of a good standard with all the extras you needed. i.e. mini bar and play station! we decided to try and get some theatre tickets and a dinner reservation. To our amazment the Concierge got us prime tickets to Mamma Mia and a fantastic table at the Ivy. On departure the porters were quick and efficient with our bags and even had a taxi waiting for us so not to delay us. All the staff during our stay were fantastic, some of the maids could learn a little english though. The new owners have taken this hotel to new service levels above that which Hilton could ever reach. I would reconmend to all.

The Langham was a great destination for our family vacation. We had a 2 BR suite for 6 of us. 6 nights. LOTS of space. Service was very prompt and courteous. Location, while not a central as some, was close enough to anywhere you might want to go and had the advantage of being in a less crowded area. Rooms were not exceptionally appointed, but great for a family of kids. Bathrooms were also spacious and updated. For a high end hotel, it was also not too stuffy. Biggest dissapointment was the pool. One of the main reasons we picked the Langham was for the pool. Skip it. It is tiny, cold and like swimming in a cave. The attached hot tub is for 16 or older and they will boot your kids out. In the end we were too busy enjoying London to care.

The Langham Hilton Hotel in London is a great hotel. I've stayed there twice within the last 16 months and found every aspect of the hotel to be fantastic. An excellent staff, especially the doorman. The hotel bar is excellent, the hotel food is exceptional. Although the rooms are a bit on the small side, afterall this is downtown London. This is a great hotel with an excellent staff, a perfect location, and a delight to use while vacationing or traveling.I totally recommend this hotel. It certainly adds to the London experience.

Stayed here for 5 nights from 1 Jan 2003. Very nice and elegant hotel, perfectly located near (3 minutes walk) from the Oxford Street & Regent Street junction. Knowing London very well I think there are not many hotels if the main action is shopping!! Oxford Circus Undergound station is on the same junction with outstanding connection to anywhere in London. Hotel looks nice from the outside and even nicer inside. Very nice lobby and the Chukka bar (next to the lobby) is very well decorated and cosy. Staff: no real 'stifflips' but bartenders in the Chukka bar act too formal without reason. Front desk staff are formal 'from a distance', no idea why. A glass of very basic wine in the bar is GBP 4, too much for the quality offered (the standard Hilton house red). But crisps and Japanese nuts are inclusive. Restaurant staff is friendly, most of them non-English. Bell boys are really friendly, so are the room maids. The Wodka bar was completely empty all the time, the bartender is just reading a magazine. This bar has no windows and does not attract any customers. Rates for breakfast are absolutely rediculous! I thought the rates in the Hilton Docklands were high but this is just madness! A full English breakfast is GBP 21.50 per head but additional charges for boiled and fried eggs. Overall quality is not bad but the GBP 13 in the Hilton Docklands offers much more for less money. We didn't have lunch or dinner in the hotel as there are numerous restaurants nearby where the food is good to very good and the wine much cheaper and better. Rooms are nice and clean but fairly small. Staying with two adults and 1 child (15) in one room (extra bed) is not a real problem but in fact it's too small. Rooms are extremely quiet, especially the ones at the back of the hotel and along the (terrible) atrium. We stayed in a standard room and can't judge the other types of rooms. All rooms have an ADSL connection for connecting your own laptop to the Internet. Works well (just plug the cable into your network port) and fast (around 768 Kbit/sec I calculated) but rated at 50P per minute upto GBP 20 a day, this is not a real world!!! However, smart PC users will find a trick to use it for free... The gym (built in 200) is superb! Dressing rooms are state of the art, big lockers with coat hanger. The showers are really good, never seen such a quality before. Sauna and steam cabin are large and very good. Swimming pool is very nice. Equipment is good but not very well chosen: too few of everything and too much of less... (Dutch expression). Gym staff is very good, really friendly, entertaining and very professional, my compliments for Scott, great guy! After 5 days I still don't know why it's so difficult to find your way to the gym, it's a complex building but maybe I did something wrong. Conclusion: perfect (maybe the best) location for shopping, nice, quiet, clean, fairly formal and (very) dull, some staff act 'from a distance', some facilities are overpriced but the gym facilities are very good. I might consider to come back again but I prefer the 4 stars Hilton Docklands with its great views and staff (see my other review). Last but not least: we didn't meet any goasts. According another article the Langham is a haunted place.
