nice style, but poor value for money

with its Art Deco style the hotel makes a really good impression at first sight. Especially the entrance area/lobby is magnificent. The staff is friendly and competent. unfortunately there is a downside, too. Most facilities in the rooms seem to be in service since several decades. The things that annoyed us were the bathroom door, which couldn't be closed, the shower, which was not working properly and that there was only a fan instead of a real AC (as per room description). Another annoyance was the fact, that the breakfast was not included in the price (no problem so far), but that we had to pay for both persons in the room, even if only one person had some. With a price of 22€ per person this amounted to additional costs of 44€/day. Overall the hotel is not bad, but given its five-star rating and the price one can expect more. I would not stay there again.

Expensive internet access

Connecting to broadband in this hotel with or without wires costs 60 cents a minute, which quickly adds up. Even the 22 Euro maximum doesn't help much - still much more than we have paid at other hotels and these days many offer free access.
