Fantastic hotel. Stayed here as part of a group of 10 in mid April. Whilst the location is not on the Danube it is only a minute or two away by foot. Hotel is very close to main shopping area. Rooms amongst the best I have seen. Those on the 9th floor a bit smaller with roof windows. The lower floors much better. Excellent restaurant and brilliant staff throughout. Leisure centre on the small side but adequate. Hotel limo service very reasonable - cheaper than taxis in most cities. Had a look at a few other hotels and nothing compared to the luxury and decor of the Meridien. Perhaps the new Four Seasons to open shortly will compete.
This hotel is a 5 star deluxe for the price of a 4 star.

We absolutely loved our stay at Le Meridian in Budapest, it is on the Pest side just around the corner from Vita...main shopping street and a few minutes walk to the Danube with an amazing view of Buda & the castle. There is also a shuttle that stops across the street to Statue Park. The hotel had excellent linens & all the extras - we ate in the hotel restaurant twice (which is rare), it was excellent - service, quality & presentation.

We stayed at Le M from 12 Feb to 17 Feb. Our good sized room was on the top, (9th) floor and there was a clear view of the Liberation monument on Gellert Hill in the distance. Due to being on the top floor, there was no view of the streets below, only the Budapest skyline but that wasn't a problem. The room was very clean and the maid service and turn-down service were excellent. Lots of friendly, English speaking staff who were only too happy to help, e.g. booking the airport shuttle bus. The hotel is located right next to the main metro station for all 3 lines as well as the City tour and Statue Park departure points. This was very convenient. The only small fault was that there was no tea / coffee making service in the room. This appears to be an increasing trend and it does, in my opinion detract from the hotel's numerous qualities. Instead you have to rely on the room service, (costly) or the McDonalds around the corner, (cheap but not convenient). All in all, a lovely hotel except for that one fault.

Hotel design and service level are really up to international top-standards. And all for very reasonable rates. No socialist feel at all (hotel could be in Paris) The spa is not enormous but not cramped either, offering very good beauty treatments and massages by a well trained staff (for extremly low prices based on western standards). Get a massage or a treatment every day!
This is the city`s top choice. Even better than the Kempinski (right next door).
Ohter properties like the Marriott, the Interconti or the Hilton are much older and are no true five star hotels.
We booked our rooms through www.hrs.de (always a very reliable choice with competitive rates)

My partner and I were going to Budapest for me to meet her family for the first time. A couple of days before the trip we got engaged so I emailed the hotel to see if they could do something on our arrival to mark this event - flowers in the room I thought. On our arrival we had been upgraded to a Junior Suite with a bottle of champagne and some cakes waiting us. This set a high standard which was maintained throughout the stay. Absolute top class staff, good food, good beer in the bar and a great position in the city centre.
If I have to make a complaint, it could only be that there aren't enough English language chanels on the TV but even that's not their fault - blame the satellite, not the hotel. This is a fantastic place and we'd definately stay there again.

My partner and I stayed at Le Meridien Budapest in November of 2002.
While much smaller than its neighbor, The Corvinus Kempinski, it affords no less luxury or comfort. It is also ideally located just off the main walking/shopping street. Our deluxe room, which was of a good size by North American standards, was beautifully decorated in rich fabrics. Upon entering the room there was a small foyer, a marble bathroom which was both smartly decorated and well layed out, and a very comfortable king sized bed with a small sitting area beside it.
Having formerly been a bank one might expect this hotel to be cold and without character but happily this is not true. From the lovely rooms , the well kept public areas, and the really fab gym/pool/sauna , this hotel was a wonderful, unpretentious, and comforting temporary home in Budapest. (If breakfast is included take it, if not don't bother. Not everything Soviet has disappeared, this breakfast buffet being one of them.)

Very nice, comfortable hotel in a great location just one block from Vaci Utca, the main pedestrian street in Pest, and just a short stroll from the river and the bridges to Buda.

I just returned from a four-night stay at Le Meridien, Budapest. Everything was really excellent. We arrived about half an hour before check in time and the staff was extremely apologetic about not having our room ready. We waited about half an hour in the lobby and then were taken to a gorgeous room which was an upgrade from the room we reserved. The room was one of the nicest I've had in Europe, spacious with many nice, small touches like a coffee pot in the room. With one minor exception, the staff was literally falling all over each other to be nice to us. The hotel lobby was nice but a little tired, not unlike many of the finer hotels in Europe. Food in the restaurant (and in the rest of Budapest) was really excellent. Le Meridien is just a couple blocks from the famous Gerbeaud coffeehouse which should not be missed.

Wow... we were absolutely blown away by this hotel!!
We wanted to spend a romantic weekend in Budapest and "Le Meridien" made it an unforgettable experience.
We are not very familiar with 5 star hotels but for this time wanted to treat ourselves with a little upper class stay. We arrived at the Hotel and right away were greated by the Doorman and showed to the Reception. a receptionist escorted us to our Room and explained where everything was (we were already in heaven by then)... The room is absolutely superb with a little Balcony and a terrific view of the Basilica. The Marble Bathroom with Both Bathtub and Shower was great, but the best was the Bed.. Never have we slept better than in those beds !!!
I am envious of all the people that will stay there in the Future as I do not think we could afford it again but it was well worth every penny.
Bravo to the Team that made it so exceptional

Such a great hotel: location, service, product...I was just amazed by this hotel.
All staff will go the extra mile to please you, with a smile. I loved everything of it, from the bell boys to the french food and the restaurant team; and I certainly will not forget the singer at the bar !
Thank you !
