highly recommending
Le Meridien Hotel Munich was great place to stay for our short holiday getaway. Le Meridien is spacious, beautiful and conveniently located - right opposite the Hauptbahnhof with direct link to the airport. Check in was a breeze, we were given a non-smoking room as requested, facing the back, very quiet and unbelievably huge, with separate bath and shower in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was superb; it even had sparkling wine on offer. The best part was having a tea/cafe bar at breakfast where you could prepare your own teapot, and keep refilling it. I have never had that at any other hotel, and it was wonderful. Everyone spoke fantastic English and could not have been more helpful. Definitely I would stay at Le Meridien Hotel again. Highly recommending.

Great hotel in a great location
I have stayed at Le Meridien Munchen and thoroughly enjoyed my entire stay. The hotel enjoys a great location - it is directly across from the main train station making it convenient to everything. The hotel itself was very clean and the hotel staff definitely stood out for being very nice and helpful. The room was very well sized by European standards, clean, comfortable, modern and well maintained. The decor was nice, sort of chic/botique-ish.. Overall, the Le Meridien Munchen is a great hotel in a great location.

Across from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the pedestrian plaza in the center of Munich, Le Meridian was one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel was luxurious and the help attentive and friendly.
Our room was decorated with leopard patterned carpet, golden walls, recessed lighting, flat screen t.v., dsl, with a very comfortable king bed with two individual comforters. The bath was elegant, top of the line fixtures, separate tub and shower, granite counter top, beautifully appointed.

Great value if you can get a deal including breakfast otherwise it might be a bit expensive if you are a family. The rooms are great and with the Plasma tv screens it adds to the ambience. The rooms were kept clean, the service was excellent and the food was very good. We booked through American Airline Vacations...

My mother and I stayed in Le Meridien Munich for 3 nights in April, 2003. Tho hotel is very modern and chic. The staff were friendly and helpful. No problem leaving our bags in the office for the day before our plane left. Also we arrived at about noon on the first day and we had no problem checking into our hotel room immediately. The dinner buffet was worth the price just to see the way the food was displayed.
As well as visually appealling the food was excellent. Breakfast was included on the weekend and you had a choice of a cold breakfast in the bar or a full buffet breakfast in the dining room. The pool and area was spotlessly clean with full lockers and shower area. The hotel is across the street from the main railway station. It is very conveniently located for those coming from the airport. There is an airport bus to the railway station for 9 euros each way and the hotel is then literally across the street which even with luggage is very easy. The location could not be better and I personally say nothing wrong with the area.

Great location - across the road from Hauptbanhoff which is the main train station and from where you can get any transport link to all over the city. The hotel is luxurious and the bedrooms are lovely. Clean and with all possible amenities. The gym and pool is lovely and a nice change from wandering around the city. Great hotel, great location and no complaints. Le Meridien is a great chain and always reliable.

After touring around Germany and Bavaria, we ended up in Munich for a day. We chose Le Meridien because of its location and reputation. As expected, very good location. Very close to the main pedestrian mall and mass transit. Only down side is that the immediate area around the hotel is a bit run down - typical of hotels next to a city's main railway station. The hotel itself is very modern and the rooms highly comfortable. Great plasma screen TV in the room!!! Breakfast buffet was excellent! The house staff is very friendly and prompt in all requests. Overall, a very nice stay and we would not hesitate to return.

We stayed at Le Meridien Munchen for 7 nights in December of 2003. We booked through gtahotels.com and got what we thought was a great rate, after comparing directly to the hotel's reservation options.
The hotel is literally across the street from the Hauptbanhof train station in Munich (the main train station), so we just hopped on the subway at the airport and 45 minutes later we were checking in to our room. They initially set us up in an interior courtyard room that was very small, but after we asked to see something else, they offered a much larger exterior room on the same floor that overlooked the parking garage. Because we weren't there for the view from the hotel room, we happily took the extra space. It turned out to be quite nice, giving us plenty of room to lay out our clothes to air out (very smokey in Europe) each night. Plus, the room had a door that opened to the outside, and we were able to hang some clothes outside on the railing to get more air exposure.
We found the hotel staff to be top-notch. Each time we made a request of the housekeeping staff, they responded within 10 minutes. The people at the front desk spoke fluent English, and were always available to answer questions. The shining star was the Concierge. This gentleman spent an inordinate amount of time answering our questions, giving us directions, making reservations, etc. Each request was fulfilled with a pleasant smile, and all of our experiences were exactly as he described. Beware the fee for his reservation services, though - it was around 20%. We didn't mind, because we budgeted pretty high, but I doubt that economy-oriented travelers would be staying at this hotel anyway, so that's probably not going to be a problem for most guests.
The hotel was an easy one mile walk to the main city center (the Marienplatz), and because we were so close to the main subway station, we never rented a car the entire time. We were able to either walk or take a subway to everywhere that we wanted to go, and if the destination was outside of the city, the wonderfully efficient rail system was also just across the street. Although at times we were exhausted from all of the walking, I don't think that we would have had a better experience being closer to the Marienplatz, because the quality of the room and the hotel itself was above anything that we were likely to find at a comparable price closer to the Marienplatz.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi were wonderful and very clean. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, nor did we stop at the hotel bar, because we wanted to experience all that the wonderful city had to offer. We did not use the gym, but it looked to be clean and in good condition.
Also, we did not use room service.
Each room has a plasma wall TV, which was very nice, but the system used to operate it was kind of lacking. Because we didn't understand much of the dialogue, we didn't do too much channel-surfing, so it wasn't a big deal. Each room also has a programmable combination safe, which was very nice - no keys to tote around or hide. The bathroom was very well laid-out, but our shower leaked water out onto the floor through the doorjam. The heated towel racks over the tub were great for drying out wet clothing quickly, and the housekeeping staff kept the room very clean each day.
You will need to bring a power converter or borrow one from the Concierge, as the power outlets are all European configuration. There was a high-speed Internet connection in the room, but we didn't bring a computer. We didn't use any of the hotel's business services, because we were on vacation.
We had absolutely no complaints, and we would most likely stay there again if we go back. Highly recommended to anyone!

I can't say enough about this hotel. The room has every comfort you could want including plasma tv. The spa staff is fabulous. I pampered myself with a body scrub and a facial and I wish I had had time for more. The desk staff could not have been friendlier and the buffet breakfast which was included in our rate was among the best I've ever seen. I even came to enjoy the strob lights of Sexyland outside our window. I highly recommend this hotel. We were there Jan 10-14, 2004
