I stayed for one night last week when they were fully booked.
The rooms are excellent, very clean and modern. However they are still practical. The bathroom doors are frosted glass, however I don't find this a problem as the majority of people who will stay in this kind of hotel are single travellers or married couples.
I have found the staff to be excellent and very attentive. I was impressed when on passing my table in the bar the barman asked if I wanted some more fruit juice in my cocktail as I hadn't drank very much. It was fine - I am a very slow drinker!
The hotel lobby is full of modern art and the hotel will probably not appeal to the very traditional. However the traditionalists have their pick of hotels, Bristol, Sacher, Grand etc so I'm happy the Meridien caters to a different clientale. If modern is your preference, this is the best hotel in Vienna for you!

This has got to be the most luxurious hotel in Vienna. Stunning modern design throughout but without sacrificing comfort. And what comfort!
The beds and pillows have entered the annals of history with my husband and I. Never have we slept better. In fact they inspired us to go out and blow a fortune on a new goose down duvet and pillows when we got home! A little lounging chair in the bedroom was almost equal bliss in the comfort stakes. All the details of this hotel stand out in sharp relief from other rivals - the delicious Hermes soap and dinky design of the glass walls in the bathroom, the wonderful power shower; the tasty breakfast in the morning; the friendly and helpful staff. All I can say is that if you're planning on staying here, I'm deeply envious..

We stayed at Le Meridien for 3 nights in May 2004. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a great location right near the opera house and 5 minutes walk from the Graben. They offer tasty juice at the front desk in the morning and always have a supply of green apples to savor. The hotel decor is modern with a high tech, art deco style. The rooms are cozy in a high tech kind of way with pink and green accent lighting. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms set up well. I really enjoy the coffee pot they put in the room that allows one to make coffee at ones convenience. Since I like to buy the delicious local pastries and eat these with my coffee in the morning. The bathroom is beautiful with a large tub and unique open shower. However, the opaque glass did cause discomfort. The toilet is locate right next to the outer glass wall that seperates the bathroom from the main room and when one sits on the toilet others outside can see that persons outline and hear everything. We had guests in our room and the women said they were embarassed to use the toilet with us men sitting there so we left the room for a few minutes. Also, I had to do number 2 and I did not feel comfortable doing this when my guests would see and hear all so I went to the lobby. This feature did cause discomfort on several occasions. Hence the 4 star review. Otherwise and very nice place to stay

We stayed in the Le Meridien over Easter 2004 and would highly recommend this hotel. The Staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were great, we had a Deluxe room which was very spacious. The beds were great and there were lots of quirky features in the room i.e. pink and green lighting. The bathroom was heaven, everywhere was opaque glass and mirrors, massive roll top bath and a wonderful three headed shower, all state of the art. Lovely glass basin, couldn't fault it. We ate in the restaurant one night, a bit pricey but it is a 5* hotel! The cafe was great for coffee and croissants in the morning (not too expensive) as we didn't have breakfast included in our stay. It was very pricey if you wanted a full breakfast in the restaurant ?‚?23.00 each. Excellent location, what more can I say. P.S. If you want to see the Lipizzaner horses at a show, book in advance as the show was all booked up, but it was probably because of Easter. Also the Vienna State Opera house gets very busy, we couldn't get in there to see anything either, you can also book in advance for that on the web site. P.P.S. The Airport train is great as well.

The hotel is simply great! Convenient location in the centre of Vienna, opposite the opera house, it is within walking distance to all the major attractions in the city. The rooms are big, stylishly decorated and with a very good lighting. The swimming pool is small, but very comfortable. The entire hotel looks like a modern art museum!!!

This is a really fun hotel to stay in. Regular doubles have orange lion's foot bathtubs and king rooms have soaring ceilings with interesting backboards for all beds. The locations is excellent, only minutes from the pedestrian area on the RingStrasse. You pick up most tour buses at the Opera which is a 5 minute walk. Only complaint is that the showers do not have doors so water gets EVERYWHERE (but nothing extra towels won't solve).

Stayed at the Le Meridien, Vienna at the end of November 03 a few weeks after it opened. Introductory room rate of 135 Eur/ night. Excellent location near City Centre, Opera, Museum Quarter, Secession Building.
Plenty of good value eating nearby. Friendly service however a problem with the bathroom which flooded because the shower did not drain properly and it seems almost all rooms have the same problem. We were not offered a non-smoking room on booking and asked to change rooms after one night, we also had to ask for bathrobes. Would go back but only if the room rate was right.

Stayed at the Le Meridien Wien for 5 nights for the New Years holidays absolutely loved the hotel. If you're looking for a very contemporary hotel with large rooms, great features, gorgeous interiors, inviting bar, etc., this is it. Staff was very nice and made the stay very enjoyable. Definitely the top hotel in Vienna at present. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

We stayed at the Meriden right after it opened and had a great experience. They upgraded us to a suite which was very kind as it was a special occasion. The staff was young and the service was "casual" as one reviewer wrote - but we found that somewhat charming and small service "errors" were quickly corrected.
The location was excellent. The beds were great - firm yet very, very comfortable. The front desk got us tickets for all the events that we wanted.
We recommend this hotel and will return on our next trip to Vienna.

This Hotel is "Happening"... we stayed there in July for the Weekend and really enjoyed ourselves.
Colours everywhere, Technology Comfort (the Beds...Oh my god!!! it shapes itself to your body).
The Spa was nice but the best was the Bar...Damn!
They had a DJ The whole Weekend and the place was packed (Definately the Place to be in Vienna)...
The Staff was amazingly helpful and smiley.
Only downside, the showers tend to flood the Bathroom a little..
We had a marvelous vacation and the Meridien was really a cool hang-out..We'll be back next year.
