We've just returned from four superb days at the Londra Palace. To the chorus extolling its virtues, may we add ours. Our wonderful suite had four tall Franch doors all looking out over the lagoon. It was beautifully done, furnished in fine antiques with a very comfortable bed and elegant marble bathroon. Watching the boats is indeed mesmerizing and the soundproofing is such that aside from an occasional ship's horn, you can block out much of the daytime cacaphony that is directly in front of the hotel. And, in June, what a torrent of tourists there are! They seem to all arrive simultaneously around nine oclock and disappear en masse about 5 o'clock. We'd strongly recommend adopting Italian hours and spending your afternoon in your comfortable room, taking to the streets after five when you can actually see the sights instead of the tourists. You can also have a superb meal in Do Leoni, the first rate restaurant which we'd give the prize for the best food we had in Venice. (And we also ate at the Cipriani--an expensive must and at Le Pisis in the Bauer--also excellent but, to our taste, not really on a par with the marvellous Do Leoni. For something off the tourist track but close to the hotel, try Corte Sconte, a hotel management favorite and our of ours too) The breakfast buffet at the Palace is also good. Special high marks have to go to the Desk staff who could not do enough for us in the way of making reservations and restaurant suggestions. It's an extremely pleasant crew. As to sightseeing, please do not miss the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. We also found the shopping near S. Moise to be on a par with anywhere else we travelled in Italy. Buon Viaggio!

We loved the Londra Palace! Excellent friendly check-in. Had been reccommended the Jr. Suite with jacuzzi (#502), but felt it was too dark & I really wanted a balcony. Waited a little while until #416 was cleaned - WOW!!!! A bit smaller room, but still a Jr. Suite beautifully decorated - with a 30 foot long balcony overlooking the lagoon, gondolas, St. Giorgio,... just gorgeous. Spent every night on our balcony with a bottle of wine sent up from the bar. Huge in-room Continental breakfast (8E more for room delivery). Only the front rooms on floor 4 have these large balconies - a few on a lower floor have smaller ones. Staff was very kind & helpful - arranged a water taxi tour of the Grand Canal & back conals that was fabulous - we loved every minute here & did not want to leave.

We stayed for two nights in early April and the hotel more than lived up to it's reviews here. We don't normally spend as much on a hotel room, but a trip to Venice is the exception. We had a junior suite on the first floor and the views of the lagoon first thing in the morning were fantastic.
The hotel's location couldn't be bettered with everything nearby and the water bus stop, San Zaccharia, was a few metres away.
Staff were very friendly and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble.

The restaurant was incredible (we did not stay in the hotel, unfortunately)! The prix fixe offerings were extremely well thought out and excellent in taste, quality and presentation. The service was some of the best we have ever experienced. I can't wait to go back (and hopefully stay at the hotel this time!).

We had an awesome experience at the Londra Palace. This hotel definately meets the 4 star criteria that Americans are typically used to in a hotel in the U.S. This was not true for hotels we had stayed at earlier in our trip. The rooms are little small, but very well appointed. Beautiful marble bathrooms and bathrobes are a nice touch.
After a hectic journey through Rome, Florence, and Sienna the Londra Palace left a us with a very nice final impression in Italy. Venice is an expensive city, but you get your money's worth at this hotel. The staff is very attentive and knowledgable. Rooms also come with the best breakfast we had throughout Italy. Although our room did not have a water view (much more expensive) we did have tranquil view from the 5th floor looking out on Venice. Location of the hotel is also ideal for tourist activities.

The Londra Palace could not have been better. The reception staff and waiters were all charming and helpful. Our room on the 5th (top) floor had a fantastic view over the lagoon to St Giorgio Maggiore and I spent ages just staring out of the windows watching all the boats going past.
The room was large with a big, comfortable, double bed and antique furniture. The restaurant seemed expensive at first so on our first evening we went out to find somewhere else. We ended up having quite a good meal but when we tried the hotel the next evening we had a meal that was three times as nice but only cost 30% more. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from St Mark's Square and the water buses are even closer. We found that by getting out of the hotel by 7am we could wander around for 2 hours or so without being bothered by crowds and then come back for a good breakfast. We stayed 5 nights there and did not want to leave. It is not the cheapest hotel in Venice but I would recommend it to anyone

My family stayed here in May 2004 and we had a lovely time. Based on the reviews we agreed that the location was excellent and the staff was very helpful and always happy to assist us. The rooms were really comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was very delightful and the location could not have been better. The also gave us very good recommendations for restautants - Unfortunatly I can't remember the names of them.
I'm sure you will be as pleased with the Hotel Londra as we were.

We recently stayed at the Londra Palace (May 2004). I was not as taken with the rooms as the other reviews. A little overdone for my taste, but a lovely hotel nevertheless. The staff was wonderful. They recommended some great restaurants which we enjoyed very much. We did have dinner in the hotel one night which while good, was very overpriced. However, there is not better place for an afternoon drink on the terrace. The drinks are much less expensive then the surrounding hotels and what a view! The location is great. After the first day of fighting the mobs we decided to get up very early to explore San Marcos square, then take off to another area of the city during the day to escape all the people. Much more relaxing that way
