Location, Climate

Luxembourg is situated in Western Europe and consists of two regions namely Oesling and Gutland. This landlocked country bordered by Belgium, France and Germany has a modified continental climate with very hot summers and mild winters. Brief History

Luxembourg was discovered in 963 and its great location in Western Europe brought Luxembourg great fate. It soon became a large territory that stretches up to its neighbouring countries including Germany and Belgium. The Habsburg family took over Luxembourg during the Renaissance era, but it was soon reined by the Netherlands when the Napoleonic wars ended.

Luxembourg hosts many traditional festivals annually including the Draikinneksdag, also known as Epiphany. On Easter Monday small clay whistling birds are sold in the old town, these are extremely popular with the children and make for a delightful souvenir to take home. Transportation

Luxembourg is very compact and therefore easy to explore on foot. The only mode of public transport within the city is the bus, however trains travel to other areas in Luxembourg as well as Belgium and Germany.
