Luxembourg is situated in Western Europe and consists of two regions namely Oesling and Gutland. This landlocked country bordered by Belgium, France and Germany has a modified continental climate with very hot summers and mild winters. Luxembourg has hotels to suit all budgets from cheap Luxembourg hotels to the five star Sofitel Le Grand Ducal Hotel which is only a short stroll to the city centre and therefore ideal for short breaks.
Luxembourg was discovered in 963 and its great location in Western Europe brought Luxembourg great fate. It soon became a large territory that stretches up to its neighbouring countries including Germany and Belgium. The Habsburg family took over Luxembourg during the Renaissance era, but it was soon reined by the Netherlands when the Napoleonic wars ended.
