Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona's facilities and standards have just been officially recognised as a 5 Star. The excellence of the Majestic are the location, tradition and gourmet cuisine of this impressive hotel. The glass-fronted entrance to this imposing neoclassical building is flanked by designer boutiques. A large chandelier hangs in the cream marble lobby, as does a huge tapestry. The public spaces, all displaying contemporary works of art, bustle with corporate guests arriving or leaving for meetings. It was founded in 1918 in an historical building renovated in 2004, offering all kind of services to the guests in a very luxurious atmosphere. Along its history, the hotel has become a symbol of class and the most modern establishments of its category in Barcelona. Moreover, it features an important art collection.
* The hotel is undergoing renovation of some of the guest rooms from 01/06/10 to 01/06/12. The noise will be kept to a minimum and should not affect guests.
LOCATION
Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona is located on Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample district, two blocks from Gaudí's La Pedrera and one km (one half-mile) from the markets and galleries along Las Ramblas. Majestic not only finds itself on one of Barcelona's most beautiful avenues lined with leading international designer boutiques but, more importantly, close to some of Antonio Gaudi's more famous legacies such as the "Casa Battlo" and incomparable "Pedrera".
PROPERTY AMENITIES
* Drolma:
Drolma features fine dining from a traditional Mediterranean à la carte menu. Typical dishes include the Wild Pheasant with Foie Gras and Apples. The restaurant seats 45 and has floor-to-ceiling dark wood paneling, inlayed with finely detailed architectural-style drawings depicting rows of classical columns.
* El Buffet del Majestic:
The Majestic’s large buffet restaurant is decorated in pale lemon with light olive table cloths. It serves buffet breakfast and lunch. The à la carte dinner menu features modern Mediterranean cuisine.
* El Bar del Majestic:
Dark wood floor-to-ceiling paneling, black armchairs and quiet alcoves make this bar an ideal setting for an informal meeting. Serves beers, wines, cocktails from 10 AM-1 AM.
* El Bar de la Piscina:
The poolside bar serves drinks and light snacks throughout the day.
* Enjoy a relaxing swim in the rooftop outdoor pool after a long day of work or a busy day of shopping and walking around the city. The pool is dominated by a colored mural by Philip Stanton that helps to further embellish the incredible views of Barcelona. It also has a solarium made of natural wood so you can dry off in the sun, tan, relax, and have a bite to eat or a soft drink while admiring the most spectacular view over Barcelona's highlights.
* The hotel’s business center is staffed 8 am-9 pm and has secretarial support services. Wireless Internet connection is available throughout the building. There are also a range of event and conference facilities, from the 24-capacity Montjuic Salon room through to the 500-capacity Mediterraneo Salon.

very small room, shower and tv not working correctly
i had to wait ten minutes for chek-out until the gentelman finished his newspaper.
free coffee for early chek-out ( before restaurant opening )10 grs of coffee for 1 litre of water, they must call it colored water with no taste

Strongly recommend this hotel. Location is unique on the shopping avenue of Barcelona. We were there during the sales and it is worthwhile. Hotel staff makes you feel like at home and the overall services are great. The room was large and we were positively surprised that they are not outdated as some of gtahotelss reviewers have said.
The rooftop pool is a must and the view unbeatable. You are walking distance from any major attractions: plaza de catalonia, Ramblas or Rambla de Catalonia and you are also 1 block away from 2 Gaudi masterpieces.
We had a great deal on their website with a 2=3 in July and found to be a fantastic value for money. As some said: MAJESTIC is FANTASTIC

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Majestice on the last day of our honeymoon. We just finished doing a cruise through the mediterranean and decided to stay one extra day in Barcelona. We arrived at the Hotel Majestic at 9:30am. We expected to have to wait until 3:00pm to check-in to our room. Instead they not only let us check-in, but upgraded our room to a suite. The room was fantastice and over looked the Passeig de Gracia. In addition, the view from the rooftop is fantastic. The location is well situated as well. It is right across the street from one of Gaudi's houses and close to the metro which makes it easy to get around Barcelona. Although the rooms at the Hotel Majestic are a little pricey, it was well worth the money.

this hotel is tops! we had a great room with a princess balcony that looked down onto the avenue , where the sea was in one direction and the mountains in the other. the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. the staff was friendly and courteous, we always had help hailing a taxi when we needed one. the roof/pool area was great with a fantastic view. the bar was very nice, dark paneling and interesting art work.I enjoyed checking out the women and their bags after a day of shopping. we stayed here only for a weekend, and i would certainly stay at the Majestic again. Barcelona is a wonderful place to visit.

This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. My room was gorgeous, everything obviously top of the line and service was impeccable. Loved this hotel and the treatment very much. Will definitely be back!

Just as reported - a fabulous place to stay! We had a junior suite on a 3 for 2 offer which made the price very competitive. Friendly, helpful staff; late check-out no problem. Superb location for exploring the city and a welcome retreat after doing so. The only down side (if there has to be one) is that there is no air-con in the winter.

The hotel is superb. The rooms are excellent and the location is first class. The restaurant (Drolma) was very expensive. However there are some excellent restaurants/tapas bars close by. I would recommed this hotel highly.

The hotel has the best location in the glamorous " Paseig the gracia" in the same hotel bulding you have CHANEL and ARMANI shops . The service it is marvellous, warm wellcome and very nice with the customers.Food it is excellent. Don?t miss the Drolma Restaurant Phillip Stark lamps and Versace China. Lovely FOOD experience!!!Great memories!!!

We stayed for three nights in the Majestic. We booked it online at a very reasonable rate. Its location is excellent and the views from the roof are great. The room was a little on the small side but very well furnished. The staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning a return trip in 2004
