This hotel was one of the best we stayed at in Italy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and a decent size. The hotel's location is close to the city's major sights and a short walk from the Termini train station.

We stayed in the hotel from 14th June - 18th June, I found the room very clean and spacious and the bathroom was beautiful decorated in marble and was extremely big. The buffet breakfast was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. All the attractions are within walking distance but do wear comfortable shoes as it is quite a walk. There are nice places to eat nearby and not to expensive and a really good Irish Bar nearby(Druids Den). We were lucky enough to meet Matt Damon at the spanish steps while we were there which did make my holiday. Would definitely return to Mecenate Palace - big thumbs up.

We stayed in this hotel from June 1 till June 8. It is a good, comfortable hotel. Our room had a great view on the Maria Maggiore Basilica. Rooms are clean and well cared for. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. The price is fine; good value for money. Neighbourhood is not excellent, but sights are within walking distance and there are some good restaurants and pizzerias nearby. We definitely enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel 3 weeks ago and were very satisfied. Rooms are small, but very nice and very, very quiet (all rooms have been soundproofed). I don't know Rome really well but it seems like it was a good location -- close to train and subway station, walking distance to the colisseum and Forum. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and recommended a great and moderately priced place to eat (in response to previous reviewer who had trouble finding eating spots). All in all we were satisfied and even decided to stay in a Golden Tulip in Salzberg later in the trip as a result.

We stayed at seven hotels in Italy and the Mecenate Palace was the best hotel for the price on our trip. The staff was very professional and the service was above average. We stayed for three nights. Because of the hot weather, we returned to the room to shower in the afternoon before heading out for dinner. When we returned late in the evening, the staff had given us a second set of fresh towels. The location was very convenient to the train station and subway, and the rooms were excellent.

No wonder the reviews are so good. This hotel is well situated, 5 mins walk from Termini railway station. convenient for the train to Fiumicino. Rooms are not huge, but staff very helpful and friendly.
Good value for the location by Santa Maria Maggiore and the quality of the hotel. Price includes breakfast on a roof terrace overlooking the square. Near most sights, and convenient to lots of good restaurants.
Highly recommended.

My fiance and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights between Aug19-22 and we absolutely loved it!!! I actually chose this hotel based on trip advisor reviews and it was a great hit. The hotel is nicely equiped with AC, minibar, bathrobs and even slippers. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful. They helped arrange daytrips for us in Rome and to Capri Island. There is a beautful terrace where the breakfast is served with a magnificient view of the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore.
If possible have a room with the view of the Basilica, you won't regret it!!!

A wonderful hotel in the heart of Roma. We had a fantastic room that overlooked the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore - quite a sight at night. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating - especially our man from Walnut Creek! The hotel is fairly close to Termini Station and within walking distance of all the historical attractions in Roma. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent three nights at this beautiful hotel. We had a room with a view of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. The room was small but very nice decorated. The staff at the front desk was very helpful in booking tours and recommending restaurants. We loved the rooftop garden where they serve breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening until midnight. It is centrally located to the train station and the sites.

I booked all of our reservations online for our May trip through Italy based on reviews. We were thrilled with the Mecenate Palace and would definitely stay there again. The staff went overboard in helping us with restaurants, tour suggestions and just getting around. I had read somewhere that this is not a safe area ... it's fine and we had no problem walking the streets at night. Although the rooms are a bit small, they are immaculate and the marble bathrooms are more than adequate.
