The Melia Sevilla in Seville, Spain is a very good hotel for location, cleanliness, and friedliness. We were able to walk to every location. They have a beautiful swimming pool and area outside. There is a buffet breakfast every morning which is good. There is a business center at the hotel where you can check your email and do work if necessary. The staff speaks some English (enough to get by). The view of the pool and city was beautiful.

I stayed at this hotel in April 2003 and it was one of the few places that was relatively inexpensive (and available) for holy week. I lived in Sevilla previously so I loved the location in the quiet neighborhood, and it is right across from a main attraction of Sevilla, the Parque Maria Luisa. (Beautiful park, great place to hang out on Sunday when everything in Sevilla is closed!). The hotel was modern enough, and everything was clean. The coral decor wasn't my favorite, but everything was in good shape and the bathroom was modern. Good bed too. For the price (go to the Melia site for deals) and location you can't beat it! 10 minute walk to the Cathedral and town.

Like most of the other business hotels, the hotel lobby is spacious, grand and bright. It gives you a very comfortable feeling especially when there is a heavy rainstorm outside in mid November. My room, which is a general double-bed room, was cool. Not to mention the bed is big enough, there is enough room for storing or hanging the clothes within the washroom. The coffee shop in the lobby was also very nice. For two cups of hot chocolate, we've got to pay only 3 Euros.

Stayed 2 nights in September. Not exceptionally distinguishable on the outside but inside was very nice. Modern, clean, staff was very friendly and willing to help out giving information, directions, etc.
Room was very adequate and clean although the view across the city from our room on the the backside of the hotel was so-so. They had two computers for internet access in the Lobby area but the Hotel charged a fee to use the computers (no charge at other Hotels we stayed at). We walked to the Cathedral and Old Town on our first trip which took about 20 min but it was so hot outside (over 90o in mid Sept) that we took taxis back and forth the rest of the time. All-in-all, a very nice Hotel but somewhat distant if you want to be in the heart of things.
