Mercure Hotel Columbus
The hotel is opposite the train station, close to a main bus and tram stop and well-positioned to tour Bremen and the locality. Unfortunately, this can be noisy particularly the groups that gather in the square in front of the station after dark to play drums!
However, the rooms are clean and well-equipped although lacking tea/coffee making facilities. There is also no hotel bar although drinks can be obtained from reception. The breakfast is fantastic catring for everyone with food ranging from cereals/yogurt to hot and cold meats, eggs, cheese, pastries, cakes and fruit.
Internet access in the lobby is free for guests.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel and recommend it. We will certainly consider it again when we return to Bremen, which is a fascinating city that has pleasingly yet to attract many tourists from overseas.
