Definitely more than just a 3 star hotel

We have stayed at Mercure Hotel Koeln West for a short break. Hotel is located outside the centre but Cologne has a great transport system so it takes only 10-15 minutes to reach the centre. But primarily we have chosen to stay at Mercure Hotel Koeln- West since we received a nice deal for 2 nights. From outside the hotel looks modern and nice. Reception area is spacious, clean and modern. Bar area was lovely, with lots of character, a bit pricey but still acceptable. Restaurant has a nice food, served quickly and for reasonable price. Room was somewhat small but clean and modern. Very good equipped with safe and mini bar. Bed was very comfortable but pillows were extremely thin and soft. No English channels at all (not even BBC World or CNN). Bathrooms are big and clean with all the amenities you need. The only thing I personally din't like about hotel was it's car theme. There is odd car crash dummies photos on the wall which wasn't really attractive or pleasant. But it did not affect me anyhow. Oh, i definitely i should mention the staff who were absolutely great in doing their job. Overall, I would definitely myself stay at Mercure Hotel Koeln- West again. Its modern, clean and is an excellent value for money, I’d rate it as 3 plus.
