great location - pretty decent hotel...but!
honestly another former ussr hotel - the people staff were extremely polite curtsey helpful or just plan nice, the location was awesome! The breakfast buffet was totally great! unfortunately, I was on the 8th flr street side and it was so very noisy were i could not get a good nights rest.
i did like the hotel but if possible request a room not on the main street. |

Central value
This hotel is in the centre of Warsaw located near an underground station. Opposite Novotel. A little bit dated but the best breakfast buffet I have had for a while. No harm in touching base with the country's past. Fantastic value. |

Nice hotel in the heart of Warsaw
This is a well located hotel literally in the heart of city center. The Palace of Culture & Science is just across the street and the bus stop is only 2 minutes away from the hotel. The hotel is modern with convenient facilities. The food is good. Accomodation is comfortable, modernly decorated and with double glazed windows which blocks the city noise coming from outside. Ideal place to stay if you are looking for a centrally located hotel with affordable prices in Warsaw. |

Good value especially for downtown location
I have stayed in Metropol earlier in September. I found it very convenient to almost everything downtown, from the Palace of Culture, the train station, shopping, and sight-seeing. With the windows closed it was quiet, even though the hotel is at the intersection of two major (8 lane) roads. Rooms are typical for older Polish hotels, with little wasted space, but it was plenty enough room for both large suitcases that I had. Breakfast was basic and plentiful. There is an 'internet cafe' across the parking lot, and lots of small food vendors in the 'under the street intersection' corridors if you want something else than the restaurant food. Overall, I thought Metropol was good value, especially for the downtown location, and would not hesitate to stay there again. |

excellent value with perfect location
We have stayed at Metropol Hotel for 3 nights and we found it to be an excellent value for money. The hotel itself is perfectly located for leisure traveler - opposite the Palace of Culture and Science and within 3 - 5 minute walking distance of to Warsaw's Central Railway station. The Underground Station, major bus lines and various shopping centers are located right opposite the hotel. It takes only approx. 20 min by taxi to get to the airport.
The room was compact but clean and a bit outdated in décor, but perhaps that is the peculiarity of the hotel’s character. The bathroom was clean as well with clean towels provided every day. We did like the breakfast provided as it had a lot of variety and was very nice. The service and staff attitude was very friendly and helpful. Overall, Metropol Hotel is an excellent value hotel with a perfect location and moderate accommodation.

Acceptable mid-range property
Metropol Hotel is an acceptable mid-range property. The hotel is very well located - right next to Central metro station, opposite the Soviet Palace of the Arts. It was very noisy but it was on the busiest round about in Warsaw but this was compensated for by being within walking distance of almost everything. The room that we were given was pretty much comfortable and clean. It was on 8th floor and with windows shut we didn’t have any outside noise disturbance. Bathroom was fine - showers very good, plenty of hot water, perfectly clean, nice towels. TV provided a choice of channels in many languages, again worked fine. Plenty of food provided for breakfast, and a good choice. Very polite and helpful reception staff that spoke very good English. Overall, I'd say that Metropol Hotel is a mid-range hotel that is acceptable for its 3 star rating.
