Be careful that you get what you pay for
We booked this hotel because it offered "triple" rooms and we were 3 adults who know how small hotel rooms can be in Europe. We were grossly disappointed and ended up with a small room with beds (one double and one cot) that were wall to wall leaving almost no room for us or our luggage. The breakfast was good, that the best I can say.

Great roman hotel
Elite Plaza represents the mix of Scandinavian design and historical building which is unique and classy. The hotel is well situated for both business and leisure travelers. The lobby of the hotel is very impressive - very ornate: wood carvings, marble, mosaics, gold leaf paint, and huge cut glass chandeliers. Room seemed a little small but the height of ceiling compensated it. The bathroom was very nice. The staff was friendly and I felt very welcomed every time I came back from a tour on town. The breakfast plentiful enough with variety of cold and hot items offered. I had a great time at Elite Plaza.

First, believe all of the reviews on this site of this hotel. They are all accurate and the photos are exactly what you will find upon arrival. We had a great experience compared to the disappointing Hotel Gambrinus (see review).
The rooms are huge indeed, by American standards and the bathroom beautiful! Think superior room at the Holiday Inn or a standard room at the Marriott. Great power shower and no temperature problems. The hotel is fully air conditioned as well.
Great professional staff, great location (about 2 blocks from the Termini) which was good for side trips to Venice and Florence. There are restaurants very close, within 1 block, to the hotel, also convenience stores, buses, etc. I can't really add more to what others have already said. I'll just say, take everyone's advice, book the room and enjoy your time in Rome! When you travel to Venice be sure to stay at the Antico Doge (see review). It's fantastic!

My family stayed in a quad room in late July this summer. We had read recommendations here and decided it was a good choice. It is hard to find a quad in Italy, but with two boys 9 and 11, we wanted them in the same room with us.
We were pleased from beginning to end. The staff was very helpful and spoke good English. The rooms were very clean and well-appointed. Even the bathrooms were large, complete with a jacuzzi tub! There was a safe in the room for small valuables and AIR CONDITIONING that was awesome after a long day of sightseeing in the middle of summer!
There are several good restaurants within a couple blocks and the staff is happy to recommend one. The breakfast in the morning was great and typical Italian--rolls, Italian meats and cheeses, cereals and pastries. A lovely start for a day in Rome.
The hotel is a few blocks from Termini which we found very convenient for the subway and getting a train to Florence one day. People may be concerned with safety around a train station, but we felt very safe. It's always a good idea to keep your belongings close to you in Rome, no matter where you are!
We would absolutely stay here again--thanks to all the previous reviewers for the great, honest info!

My 3 sons (20's), 2 of their companions, and I spent 3 nights in 3 rooms at the end of August 2004 at the 3* well-managed (Morgana) Royal Court. LOCATION:It's located 3 blocks NE of Rome's Termini Station. Though close to the train station, this particular area seems safe. It's across the street from a language school with private residences and corner restaurants nearby. Being near the transportation hub of Rome, we could easily walk to the hotel after arriving on the airport express train, catch early morning trains to other cities and also board any city bus after a day of sight-seeing if "Termini" was listed on the destination roster at the bus stops. One advantage of boarding buses at the starting point is you have a choice of seats! We did walk to the Colosseum (1.5 mi) our first day, but Trastevere and Vatican City would have been a stretch. (By taxi, it's 10 Euros to Vatican City from the hotel or 1 Euro by bus). ROOMS: The A/C'd double rooms with walk-in closets (!) were quiet at night, clean and comfortable - elegantly wallpapered with padded brocade. One room was a tad larger than the other two. The rooms were cozy, but not cramped. The large bathrooms were beautiful--marble-tiled floors, bidet (I used mine to soak my feet...)-- our tub/shower had whirlpool jets (!), but the others did not. My son could not understand why they didn't have shower doors or curtains - yes, the floor was a bit wet after his use. BREAKFAST: Very nice continental breakfast - dry cereals, yogurt, salami, mortadella, cheese, and delicious rolls--my sons found the food quite filling and were ready for the day's adventures. AMMENITIES: quiet courtyard entrance, elevator, and rooftop patio (no view) with table/chairs and greenery. This hotel was a good choice.

Friendly little hotel a couple of minutes from the station. If you get the Leonardo Express from Fiumicino to The Rome Termini don't leave the station by the first exit or you will have to walk all the way round to get to the hotel. Carry on straight ahead and up the escalator to the main entrance and leave by the right exit. The road is straight ahead. Saves a lot of time. The room we had for 4 nights had a Jaccuzzi and air con. After 7 or 8 hours walking, both were much needed. Breakfast is continental with cereal and fruit. A bit of a stroll from the main sights but busses and Metro are both handy. Very friendly staff, they gave us a good tip on where to eat, Taverna Pretoriana just round the corner. Best pasta ever!. Best ice cream? in the station at a self service restaurant on the upper level. Perfect on the way back from town.

The hotel was amazing, though quite expensive (a bit sad when I paid the bill). It's 5-10 minute walk from the Termini station - the most convenient station in Rome I believe. Lovely bathroom - comes with a jacuzzi!! Breakfast was alright. Overall, i enjoyed my stay!

It was our first time to Italy,we stayed our first 3 nights in Rome, Nice clean hotel only a 5 minute walk from train station! Be careful of taxi drivers, little men. They will tell you the wrong direction, or tell you it is 45 min away and try to charge you 25 euros to get there! It is directly down the street! DONT TAKE A TAXI, WALK! Hotel was nice, small but clean and the staff was professional and friendly! Good breakfast! We going to some of the major sites I suggest taking the bus to some of the sights you can spend a whole day looking for a couple sites if your not familiar with the city!

Friendly attentive staff, a very comfortable and well appointed room- what more does one need?
Other users have criticised the area round Termini station, but it's not rough by comparison with large stretches of London, Paris or LA. The only disadvantage is that walking to some of the famous sights ( the Forum, the Vatican, the Piazza Navona) can take a while, but if you don't enjoy strolling and taking in the atmosphere, you're probably in the wrong city!
All in all, I'd recommend it unreservedly.

I stayed at the Royal Court between 29 November and 1 December 2003. I was referred to this hotel by Hotel Morgana, its sister hotel. Royal Court Hotel is at the far end of a hotel lane next to the Roma Termini Station. The location is excellent as a base for subway travel around Rome and for rail travel to other cities in Italy. There is a cosy feel to this hotel due to its small number of rooms and petit size of the lobby. The rooms are clean and roomy for a 3-star. They are furnished in the traditional inn style. I was given room 210 which features a water jet bathtub. It was value for money given that I was offered a special rate for low season.
