Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights July 2011 found it very central for every thing. Staff could have been a bit more helpful when u sign in and out. I was told I would have to pay upfront when signing in for incidentals, when I asked what they were was informed for using phone,bar, gym etc. I explained I would not be using these facilities but still had to pay up. When signing out was told it would be 7 working days before this money was back into my account.
One woman was very very rude and unhelpful. She was on the booking desk and needs to upgrade her people skills. She was also rude and was told so by another member of staff and another person who was trying to book something.
The Tick Tock Bar was great for eats and staff very pleasant. Would stay at this Hotel again. Not let Staff put me off.

Would Definately stay here again
having just returned from first ever trip to new york and having stayed at the new yorker hotel I can quite honestly say that I don't think you could beat it on location or for value for money. Breakfast every morning in Tick Tock diner really set you on your way for the rest of the day (you must try the deluxe waffle), yes the rooms are small but you can't really expect anything else in such a built up city and for the amount of time we spent in them they were more than adequate and very clean. Check in did take slightly longer than was necessary but the guy didn't speak very good english and it didn't help that we were quite tired having been up since 3am BST. The only complaint I would have is that the bar staff don't seem to be in such a hurry to serve you but I would not let that put you off and I would definately stay here again and I hope I get the chance.

nous avons été en juillet 2010 hotel très bien chambe très correct personnel super sympha car on ne parle pas anglais et madame maria à la reception parle très bien français et se plie en quatre pour vous servir le restaurant en très bien en plus endroit bien située au pied de madisson et la vue du 35 ° est superbe si je retourne à new york j'irai de nouveau au new yorker
