I have just come back from a one week stay at hotel nh alanda and I am really satisfied with it.
The hotel is new, rooms are big enough and confortable, swimming pool and garden are nice,
staff friendly and helpful.
Price 113?‚? for a double room, breakfast buffet for two included.
It is located midway between Marbella and Porto Banus, we rented a car, but bus stop is just across the road, as well as the beach.
We had a great time and it will be our hotel if we will come back to marbella once more.

I've stayed in every NH in Marbella area and Alanda is by the far the most luxurious. The hotel is very new so it doesn't have all thoses annoying stains and scratches on the wood work, but does lack a little in character. The rooms are large and are decked out in the traditional NH style (lots of wood, and tasteful contemporary upholstery)
The hotel has a very expensive Spa (but very nice too) and the staff at the hotel were friendly and inviting.
Overall a nice place to stay (if you have car!) in the Marbella area.

We stayed at the Alanda for a week in the middle of June and on the whole we were very impressed. We booked our stay at the last minute and it only cost us ?400 for the week which we thought was great for a 5 star in Marbella having paid double that for a 3 star last year. We had a gorgeous room although admittedly it wasn't huge - but as we spent more time out of it than in, it wasn't a huge problem. The extras were very expensive - however, we were aware of this and we made the choice to spoil ourselves and enjoy some lazy room service. We found the location fine - half way between Marbella and Puerto Banus - although we did use taxis for every outing. We found the staff very helpful (my partner was ill on our final day and they went out of their way to help us). Our only niggle was noise at night. We requested a quiet room and for 6 nights it was perfect however, on the 7th night when the hotel was full and we had neighbours above and to either side of us we had a lot of noise disruption. Our neighbours weren't being particularly noisey however we could hear EVERYTHING - even someone's suitcase being unzipped! I don't know if the hotel lacks decent sound insulation but if we'd had that level of noise throughtout the stay I'm sure my review would be very different. On the whole though, a lovely hotel and a great holiday.
