Highly recommended
Nh Amsterdam Centre Hotel was perfect choice to assure our perfect stay in Amsterdam. First of all, the location – the hotel enjoys a perfect location – the front of the hotel looks out onto a canal where canal cruises (definitely try an evening candle-light cruise - very romantic) and river bikes can be hired. Opposite is Leidsplein (a square with bars/restaurants and street entertainment) and the main street off of the square - Leidstraat is lined with lots of 'high street' shops. The hotel is two minutes walk from Vondel Park and another few minutes from the museum area (where the more upmarket shops are). Use trams to get around - really cheap and stops right outside the hotel.
Secondly, the service – always friendly, and welcoming staff that makes you feel special and very much accommodated.
Thirdly, the room – both bedroom and bathroom were modernly designed, cozy, clean and comfortable, bed with a choice of pillows, TV with various channels, minibar, bathroom toiletries, including sleepers and bathrobe, tea/coffee facilities, nice self-regulatory light system.
Besides, Nh Amsterdam Centre Hotel offers nice stylish bar and a restaurant with ample delicious choice.
Above and beyond, Nh Amsterdam Centre Hotel is an ideal tourist base and moreover, a great place to stay with the most convenient location, excellent service, great accommodation. We loved our stay at Nh Amsterdam Centre Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We made a last minute decision to stay at the NH Amsterdam Centre hotel and it was a great choice. Unfortunately gtahotels hadn't informed the hotel of our booking, however the reception desk dealt with it quickly and efficiently. The room was modern, very clean, trendy and the bathroom was brand new and funky. The showers are amazing! The staff are very helpful, confirming restaurant bookings and recommending places to visit. The hotel is in a great location, with the main attractions all within easy walking distance of the hotel. Next time we're visiting Amsterdam, we'll be staying at NH Amsterdam Centre!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The room was spacious for european standards and nicely decorated. I was a bit concerned about it being very close to the elevators but it turn out to be very quiet. The staff was very friendly. Central location.
I would stay here again.

We booked this hotel for a short break after reading some of the reviews on this site, and we weren't disappointed.
The location is perfect. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the main attractions, and is just down the road from the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. It's a couple of minutes' walk from Leidseplein, which you can get to easily from Centraal Station by tram.
Our request for a quiet room had been taken into account - we were at the back of the hotel, and didn't hear a sound from outside during the four nights we were there! The room itself was decorated in modern browns and creams with a wood floor and was spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable and there were blackout curtains - the only drawback with this was that it was difficult to get up in the mornings! The bathroom was also spotlessly clean, with a fabulous walk-in shower.
We liked the extra touches such as an iron and ironing board, and the powerful hairdryer and magnifying mirror in the bathroom.
The staff were efficient and really friendly - something we've found to be a rare occurence!
I would certainly recommend this hotel - we're already planning to return before the end of the year!

Just fantastic. this was our first trip to Amsterdam and after alot of leg work on the net quickly realised that star ratings are higher than we would give here in England and therefore spent the max we could afford to be assured of a good hotel. I am very, very picky about hotels (just ask my husband). We found a great deal for 4nights room only at this hotel. I cannot express enough how brilliant this one is. Large rooms, with couch, lovely large, comfortable bed etc. The bathroom was very luxurious. Room maids did brilliant job everyday. I cannot fault the NH Amsterdam Centre and will definitely go back there - if we can get a good again. The doorman is aa great character!!! Oh and finally, the location is perfect.

This is the best hotel in Amsterdam by far! It is right next door to the Marriott and the American Hotel and is way nicer. The rooms are specatuclar, we payed a little extra for a suite and it was gorgeous, super modern, dark wood floors, splendid marble bathrooms, sitting area etc. The hotel is the best location in Amsterdam right off of the Leidse-plein which is a great pedestrian square and a huge walking street full of shots bars and cafes. Would stay there again in a second.

Very reasonable price and in nice location. Much better than a cheap hotel near the station or red light district. There are also some good bars nearby which have cheaper beer than those near Dam Square, and the hotel places you right near all the lovely canals and upmarket shopping streets (very near Kalverstraat). Room was comfortable and clean, as was bathroom, and all the little extras (including shoe shine) were good. Breakfast was also included, which was very nice. Recommended.
Also the lifts are cool.

This hotel is actually called NH City Centre. Like the name, you really are in the City Centre, just a block away from the Spui with its collection of cafes, and right on the Singel canal. We got one of the cheapest rooms during the first weekend in May, so we were facing an inner courtyard, but if you can afford it, the rooms facing the canal are guaranteed to have a wonderful view. Our room was compact, though the slight angling of walls gave a dynamic feel to the layout. The bathroom had ample counter space and the walk-in shower was well-designed. All in all, quite comfortable for sleeping in, and who needs to hang out in a hotel room during the day when you have all of Amsterdam to roam about in?

The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful in providing an easy to use city map. Would definitely stay at this hotel again if visiting Amsterdam.

Stayed 1 night at this hotel for an anniversary break. Chose this hotel after reading some of the previous reviews.
I have to say we were not disappointed by the care and attention the staff gave us - all without any apparent expectation of a tip !
The room was clean (except for some staining on the sofa) and decorated in very soothing dark wood, browns and creams with a dark wooden floor.
The room was a nice size for us as a couple but there is no possibility of accommodating an extra bed for those with kids in tow.
Location close to Liedsplein, Vondelpark and the museums was excellent an only a 10 minute tram ride away from Centraal Station. The nearest tram stops are in Liedsplein opposite the Bulldog pub.
Breakfast is open till 11am weekdays an 12pm weekends which is highly civilised !
