Stayed at the Kempinski Thessaloniki for three days and two nights in July of '03, shortly after it had opened. I like to swim, and the stunning outdoor pool, which appeared to be about the size of a football field, surrounded by cabanas, with friendly but unobtrusive service, was a dream. I had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the water. The decor is chic without being uncomfortable or harsh. As I arrived at reception, a smiling Swiss gentleman was checking out, regretting that he had to leave at all - I felt the same way when I left, although I seriously considered changing my flight to stay longer. The indoor pool and spa area were also very nice. I can't speak for the food since I ate most meals out. All the staff were extremely courteous and pleasant. A must see - best in summer!

This is a stupendous hotel. Modern, and normally I do not like "modern" as it is too "W" and hip. I am not hip (being 49 and a prosecutor) in the sense of "hipness" that I feel is negative. But the 1700 sq. meter (that's multiplied by 10 for square feet) is the largest pool in Greece, nicely done, drinks by the pool, a great sauna, steam, exercise stuff, and only 5 Euros by taxi to downtown. A great place to vege out during the day and they had a Cuban band (yes from Cuba) that was excellent (2 acoustic guitars, acoustic bass, percussion and others) playing. Rooms on 2nd and 3rd floor have balconies, beds kingsize, separate glass walled showers from the tubs, and really nice room. Polite impeccable service. The "no ATT connection" is to be fixed (I'm told) in a week. Great hotel. You can email to them at -----------

This is a really modern hotel, first a little confusing, even the hallways are not straight forward, but the longer I stayed, the more I enjoyed the special designs of the furniture and the way the rooms were decorated. The architect did not consider a place for the fire extinguishers, they were just standing in the hallway. I missed an alarm clock, but the wake-up call worked.
The hotel does not look very special at daylight, but in the evening, when we had a celebration at the poolside, it was very impressive.
Service in the dining room was not very good; of course hard to compete with China, where you have one person standing around each table to make sure that you get what you want.
To arrange a transport to the aIRPORT, ALTHOUGH ONLY A FEW MINUTES Away, took some effort.
