My wife, two daughters and myself stayed here 02/06/04 to 05/06/04. We had a great time, the hotel was good, staff at all times pleasant, rooms first class. My family loved the pool. The Hotel is a very short walk from the city along the stunning river walk. Breakfast first class. Parking free!!

We stayed here as a family, great large rooms, kids looked after with their own play room and restaurant and pub where you can eat all day.Our children loved the swimming pool and we could walk straight to the city centre attractions from the hotel. We were also given a room with a view of the river. Wonderful staff who are very customer focused. We are going to return and would recommend

My friend and I recently stayed at the Novotel, York. The bedroom was OK. The breakfast was brilliant, plenty of choices. The hotel is in a good location. Bar prices reasonable. Staff quite helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

When we arrived we were quite pleasently surprised! we only stayed for the weekend but had a very enjoyable time! the hotel is in a perfect position for relaxing stress free yet not to far from the shops! and despite the rain that we are all so used to in this country it was a very memerable stay! x.

Stayed here in November, 2001 for three nights. Loved the location - an easy stroll to York's city center and all the main tourist sites.
Fabulous buffet breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Large, comfortable, immaculately clean room with very nice modern bathroom.
Planning to stay here again in November of this year.

Stayed for almost two weeks July-August 2003. I would have no hesitation staying here again or recommending it to my friends. It is a great hotel, well staffed and well located. The rooms are reasonably large, clean and well appointed. The restaurants & bar are great. The buffet breakfast and dinner are excellent and good value. The staff are helpful, cheerul and multi-lingual (altho' a little disorganized at times - I suspect due to taking on P/T staff for the summer). 15 minutes leisurely stroll along the river bank brings you to the center of the city, 5 minutes' walk to the Castle Museum, 10 minutes' walk to Jorvik and only 35 minutes' walk to the Minster. However, the rooms are NOT air-conditioned (neither are the rooms at the York Hilton!). We stayed during a heatwave (24-28C) and the windows opened very wide and the rooms were cool enough but it would have been better with air-con.
There is no fridge/minibar in the room and no facilities for hanging up clothes to dry in the bathroom. The hotel is very much orientated to families and there were a lot of small children although they also have business meeting facilities. They even accept families with pets (I saw two dogs). We had a most enjoyable holiday.

We had a great stay here in November 2002. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre, and is just down the road from the Castle Museum, Jorvik etc. The hotel was comfortable, the food (especially the breakfasts) excellent, and as an added bonus, for our two boys especially, it has a swimming pool! It was wonderful to be able to walk easily into town, and browse the wonderful selection of shops York has to offer. A definite winner!
