Palace Hotel is just on the edge of the UK's first National Park, they used to call this breathtaking part of the world The English Switzerland. You'll be able to explore rugged heather-clad moorlands, go walking over the rolling dales of White Peak and Dovedale or take a bike ride through endless stretches of beautiful countryside. Chatsworth House, recently used in the filming of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, is on your doorstep and you can have family fun at the epic Alton Towers.
The little village of Castleton is famous for its Blue John stone and its many caverns and giftshops. A beautiful village to visit.
Chatsworth House and Gardens owned by the Duke of Devonshire, open to the public until mid December.
Alton Towers Theme park is famous for its white knuckle rides and a full day can easily be spent here with many eating places and attractions for everyone. |
