A treat for art lovers is the Palm Springs Art Museum which houses the Annenberg Theatre. If you want to splurge, then head down to El Paseo where you can choose from more than 300 upscale boutiques, jewelers and fine restaurants.
The downtown area is pedestrianized which makes it a great place to walk around. Riding a bicycle is also a good idea since the city is flat and dry. Renting a car with or without a driver is the best option when touring farther destinations.
