Practical clean hotel in suburbs
Very practical and clean. Quite a big hotel.
It's sufficiency for a short trip to see Venice.
Hotel was clean and cosy.
Breakfast was a bit poor, but the staff for the dining room
were very kind.
Around the hotel, there is nowhere that you can for purchase gifts, small stuff to eat etc. But if you go to Venice, then it doesn’t matter.
The hotel is about 10-15 mins from Venice by train.
Trains are frequent and run everyday.
The nearest station is 1 minute away from the hotel
Guest rooms are the same things as most *** or **** hotel.
Not too fancy or original.
The hotel is in a residential area.

Well worth a visit
We just returned from our 4 night stay at the Plaza Mestre Venice Hotel. We were very impressed with the hotel. The hotel is perfectly located, directly across from the train station. Basically walk out the station, cross the street and Plaza Mestre Venice Hotel is right there. The check-in was efficient and quick, the staff perfectly spoke English so did the staff in other departments.
The room was clean and spotless. The bathroom was large by European standards and probably even North American. Air conditioning worked well. The shower had good water pressure and no issues with running out of hot water. Our room faced the train station and the road but we did not hear anything, besides we were allocated on a 6th floor. The breakfast at the hotel was included in the deal and it was a great start to the day. Overall, my wife and I were well pleased with Plaza Mestre Venice Hotel . this place is definitely well worth a visit.

We had a car and finding the Hotel Plaza in Mestre was easy. There is a 24 hour parking lot next door and it only cost us 10 euros for 2 days - you can go in and out at no extra charge (they determine your daily rate by the size of your vehicle - we had a Fiat Punto, so it was cheap!). Our stay was from March 14-16. We had a great rate, so breakfast was not included (we didn't mind). The room was spacious and clean, although a little of the wallpaper was coming off. The free shoe shine by the elevator was a plus, because walking around in Italy is not like walking around in the US, your shoes tend to get dusty! The best part was that it was across the street from the train station and it only cost 1 euro each way and only about 5 minutes to get to Venice.
On our first train ride into Venice, we even rode in the same train car with actress Christine Baranski and her daughter! The only downside was that the hotel room walls were pretty thin, so when you're in the bathroom and someone on the floor above you is taking a shower, it sounds like it's raining! Otherwise, a great hotel and would recommend to anyone visiting Venice.

The Plaza Hotel in Venice was fine. The room was acceptable and the service was very good, however, it is about 30 minutes away from Venice by train. It is at the stop before Venice which is very important if you are only staying for a few days. It is a euro each way and next time I would definately stay at a place in Venice.

This hotel is in the perfect location. It is directly across the street from the entrance to the station, where you can purchase a 1 euro train ticket to venice (which takes around 8 minutes, and trains come very regularly - every 5-10 mins). This means you don't have to pay the over the top prices for hotels in venice itself, but still be able to get there in 10 mins or so. We had a couple of problems when arriving - first we asked for non smoking room, (booked on gtahotels.com) and were given a room stinking of smoke - however I think the clerk was just trying to give us a better room than we had booked - since the stinky room was a "superior" room - we had booked standard. I asked to be moved to a non smoking room, and we were - unfortunately to a standard room as we had paid for... The view wasnt that great, but we were only going to sleep there anyway. There were a few problems with the room too - the heat/ac didnt seem to work, but we never bothered to ask the clerk about it. The door handle for the bathroom also kept falling off.
There were also no tea/coffee facilities in theroom, or an ice maker in the corridor. The breakfast made up for all of the above though, an excellent buffet breakfast - as much as you can eat & drink, and the best thing was that gtahotels.com said that breakfast wasn't included, but it seems hotel plaza gives breakfast with every booking anyway!
So - room problems probably would have been fixed if we had bothered to ask - location excellent - breakfast excellent - room comfortable.
One warning - don't expect any help/customer service from the bus station when you're trying to get back from the hotel to the airport, they don't want to help you at all - just talk at you in italian and wave their hands around angrily.
Also - if you're going to hire a car to go somewhere other than venice, go to Europcar, which is inside the entrance to Hotel Triton (I think) when you go left out of the Hotel Plaza entrance. They were the only car hire company who spoke good english AND had cars available for us AND allowed drivers from 21 years upwards AND didn't overcharge :)

This hotel had everything we were looking for. We parked our car for 10e a day and never needed it until we left. The hotel is a nice combination of old and new with an incredibily warm staff. Rooms were large and nice, bathrooms especially nice and a/c was great. Since it was very hot we appreciated the a/c. Beds were a little hard but we all slept very well. There was an included buffet breakfast making this hotel and even greater deal. There was nothing to do in Mestre (a suburb of Venice) but the large train station is directly across the street. It's a 6-10 minute ride to the Grand Canal. I thought this hotel provided the best opportunity for exploring Venice and we will return time and again.

Ideally situated opposite the train station in Mestre. 1 euro and an 8 min train journey to Venice. Every train goes to Venice and every train stops at Mestre, at 5-10 min intervals. Excellent first class hotel, all staff friendly, offered room early, on arrival. Room newly decorated, very clean, bedding & towels changed daily. Stayed 6 nights. One word of warning, if booking from internet hotel sites and booking includes breakfast, make sure you have written proof, they do run a check. After providing proof to reception staff on arrival, we were told on two more occasions that our breakfast was not included. This was only a minor hiccup because we had proof and it did not spoil our stay at the hotel, the staff were apologetic after inclusive breakfast was confirmed. Air conditioning only kicks in above 23 degrees, but if the temperature is below this, then the open windows are sufficient. We'd definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to all, it was perfect for visiting Venice.
