The Posa Posa is a lovely hotel. Our room had a gorgeous view overlooking the bay. The room we got was designed for wheelchair accessability, so it was very spacious - nice! The staff is very friendly. The breakfasts are feasts, so definetly opt for the breakfast package- very much worth it. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant on our first night. The food was mediocre and overly priced. Better food can definetly be had at nearby restaurants. The Blue Grotto restaurant by Bar International is awesome, great value, but slow service. The hotel is located away from the hub and throngs of tourists. This was actually a plus, because it was very peaceful. It is walking distance to the beach and center of town, so it gives you the best of both worlds. There is also a nearby bus station for the interno positano (a bus that goes around positano) for only 1 euro you can get anywhere. Overall, we had a great experience. The bed had a good quality mattress, very comfortable, good air conditioning, superb breakfast, and excellent staff.

My husband and I adored Hotel Posa Posa. Our room was spacious and clean, and we loved the large balcony with lounge chairs and a lovely table and chairs. Every evening we would have wine out there before dinner. The staff seemed to care a lot about how our stay was going. The breakfast is super. This hotel is not cheap, but relative to comparable Positano hotels, it's great value. It's hard to go wrong with restaurants, and there are some lovely ones on the (steep) walk up to Posa Posa. Try Il Fornillo and Saraceno d'Oro, which are right next to Posa Posa, but don't miss Lo Guarracino, which is nestled between the two beaches. Check out Chez Black and the area by the beach if you want to see the "place to see and be seen." Wear comfortable shoes, reward yourself for your steep upward climbs with gelato, and enjoy the beach, the limoncello, and "la dolce far niente" (the sweetness of doing nothing).

We've been to Positano before and it is magical. We stayed with our kids(then 11 and 8) at the Posa Posa in Dec of 2002 and just loved it. The views are great, especially from the breakfast room. It's a hike into the center of Positano (and then back up), but Positano is one big hill. It's not for the meek. The hotel is beautiful and the staff couldn't be any nicer. If you get a car, try to eat in the neighboring town of Priano at a place called La Brace. It is the best restuarant in the world, and quiet surprising, due to it's casual nature and tacky checkered tablecloths. If you see the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" the scene when she meets the guy is filmed in Positano. One scene is filmed across the street from PosaPosa. See, it's really special!!

From the time we first e-mailed the Posa Posa Hotel to ask for information and availability, we were charmed! Angelo immediately answered with a special offer, and contacted us again a few weeks later.
When we (five couples) made the decision to book at Posa Posa, Angelo and other staff members became our source of information for restaurant recommendations, info on what would and would be closed (in February), and transportation for daytrips. e-mails were answered promptly.
Our rooms were lovely, new and clean (junior suites), and the balconies had wonderful views of both the sea and the town. Breakfast was very good, and served in a lovely room.
Posa Posa added greatly to our wonderful memories of Positano!

Breathtaking views, excellent service. Let the staff make your reservation for Capri (the boats load up fast). Breakfast is superb.
Served graciously on the terrace overlooking the city and the sea. If you like to walk, its a distance to the beach, but the bus runs every 10 minutes , costs only 1 euro and stops at the front door. While at the beach look for the Chez Black restaurant. The dining experience that you came here for unfolds on your table. Only the angels eat better. Try the grilled sea bass (best I've ever had). Tell the owner (Salvatore Russo) what you think of the meal. He'll probably send over a glass of Lemoncello. Enjoy every minute. life's too short.

Lovely. This hotel is a small gem. Beautiful views from beautiful rooms and run by a helpful and courteous staff. Yes, it's a little expensive but it's Positano, a siren's cry from Amalfi, Ravello, and Capri.Situated at the top of Via Pasitea, prepare yourself for long, leisurely walks down to the beach. Stop along the way for some pizza, biscotti, or a gelato, but don't hurry back up.This is paradise minus the pool, but that's nitpicking. Posa Posa is peaceful, tasteful, and close to perfect.

The view from our room was worth the expense. The staff at Hotel Posa Posa was extremely courteous, helpful, and reliable. The bathroom was large and clean. The view from the restaurant of the hotel was beautiful.
This was a very comfortable hotel.

This hotel has the most magnificant views inclusive of the restaurant on the 4th floor where breakfast is served daily. I also liked the fact that it was not in the center of town, personally enjoying the walks to and from the beach. I have one valid dissatisfaction, I do not think that my room was as clean as it could (and should) have been (though the terrace view was spectacular). I had a junior suite with a jacuzzi and felt that the cleanliness (of the bathroom in particular) was more than lacking thus not wanting to utilize the jacuzzi. If this situation was to be (and should be) greatly improved I certainly would recommend this hotel as it really is quite lovely and a great value.
