Ok for short stays
Recently I stayed at Premier Travel Inn Glasgow City Argyle Hotel for one night. It is a low cost hotel and it offers basic facilities. Well, the best thing about the hotel is its central location. the city center is just minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel offers comfortable accomodation. The rooms facing the street could be a little bit noisy at times, so be careful. The food is ok. Overall, it was a nice stay compared to the price i paid. |

convenient location and reasonable price for the quality given
We have chosen Premier Travel Inn Glasgow City Argyle primarily out of location and price. Premier Travel Inn Glasgow City Argyle enjoys a city centre location, with easy access by road, rail and air. Situated close to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is ideally located for the SECC, meetings and visiting Glasgow's tourist attractions and shops. Street parking free of charge right next to the hotel was a bonus. Our twin room was very clean and fresh looking, beds very comfortable and overall I was pleased. Did not get to try breakfast so can not comment on that. But out of location and price for the quality given, Premier Travel Inn Glasgow City Argyle did really worth it. |

Very friendly and helpful staff..Young lady who was more than willing to visit and make us feel at home.. Room was clean and lacking nothing that we needed. One warning, do not open the windows at night if you are facing the Street as it is a noisy street!!
Breakfast did not meet the standards that we had grown to expect for the cost, however, as the room, staff and the location, so near to the Central Train Station, made up for the breakfast selections. We would not hesitate to come back. |

We stayed at the Corus Hotel overnight after arriving in Glasgow. The staff behind the desk were not nice or helpful. It was surprising since everywhere we went in Scotland the people could not be nicer. However the room was fine and the location was central so we could walk everywhere. |

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel whilst attending dalai Lama talks at SECC and were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and comfort. Although situated in a less than salubrious area it's well located for Glasgow Central Station, a short walk - and it's just a short stroll from the river. A pleasant 20min riverside amble brings you to the SECC. We dined twice in the hotel restaurant and found the food excellent and not overpriced. Breakfast was good too. We requested a quiet room, having read your previous reviews. A grotty view but a tranquil night's sleep. All the staff, without exception, were friendly and obliging. |

Arrived in Glasgow 6th May for three nights stayingat the Corus Hotel . We were able to book in early and reception staff very helpful and friendly, as wasall the staff and locals except for one taxi-driver who took exception to my wifes English accent. The hotel was clean and tidy but rooms compact and no proper storage area for clothing. Weather was variable but friendliness of the locals made up for that. Would definitely recommend hotel and Glasgow, which was clean and still maintained the facade of an old and prospereous city. |

My best friend and I stayed at this hotel April 20th-26th,2004. We were absolutly delighted with this hotel. The Staff was wonderful and polite as well as helpful. The rooms were a bit small, but comfortable and clean. (but bring your own washcloth) You don't have to worry about hiring a taxi for there is always a trail of them across the street handy and ready. The rail station, shops restaurants, pubs are all in walking distance. And if you don't feel like walking to have a *drink* the hotel bar on the 1st floor is the place to be. The bartenders were delightful, fun and very friendly. We had a wonderful weeks stay in glasgow and definitely will return and stay at the corus hotel. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and anyone reading these reviews. |

Myself and 3 friends stayed in this hotel for one night, 6th March, 2004. I booked the hotel on accommodationow.com and got a rate of stg50 per room. The normal rate is stg90. We were delighted with the hotel. It was a five min walk from the rail station (Central Station) and about 10 mins from the main shopping areas. There is a taxi rank directly in front of the hotel. The hotel itself was very nice, not very pretty from the outside, but don't be put off by this. Inside it was lovely.
The rooms were bright, ok size, very clean and were well equipped - Iron/Iron board, trouser press, mini shampoo, hairdryer, tea/coffee/hot chocolate & biscuits! We asked for more towels and had them within 5 mins. The heat was a little too much, but I'd rather be warm than cold!
There is a nice bar on the first floor and a nice dinning room/breakfast room. Breakfast was lovely. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel, the staff were polite and helpful. I will defo recommend this hotel to friends going to Glasgow. |

I was a bit unsure about this hotel as had previously stayed when it was called the Carrick but it has gone a total revamp new look and new name it is now called the Corus Hotel Glasgow. I was up on a business trip the staff on check in very freindly and knowlegable of the City. I was also most impressed with the trendy look of the restuarant/bar and found the rooms to be bright and comfortable. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone from the business to the weekend traveller. I have since been back for a weekend break with my wife to explore the city. |
