Pleasant Surprise
Excellent location for train connections. Several trams were within a block of the hotel. My room was clean and nicely appointed. Staff was friendly and efficient and genuinely willing to offer alternatives or suggestions. Internet was pricey, but reception staff pointed out that there was an internet cafe only a few meters away that was much cheaper. My room overlooked a very busy thoroughfare, but there was no noise from the street audible in the room (which opened to a balcony). The breakfast buffet was excellent and the breakfast room very airy and clean. Hotel caters to tour groups, so it did get busy and crowded at times, but this was never a problem. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. |

Value for money
Convenient location (near the train station and public transport), spacious and comfortable rooms, nice and discrete service. I recommend. |

We stayed at the Prinz Eugene Hotel in Vienna in March, 2004. I chose it because it is literally across the street from the Sudbahnhof railroad station, so it was extremely convenient to take the bus from the airport to the Sudbahnhof, stay overnight, and grab a train the next morning. The hotel has a nice lobby, and a very nice breakfash room, and a very nice breakfast was included in the price (cheese, sliced meat, muesli, scrambled eggs, breads, jams, etc.). The room itself was nice, although not overly large, with a bed and desk, closets in the wall instead of an armoire, a nice bathroom. Not luxury, but nice, maybe on the order of a Holiday Inn in the US. There must be elegant floors and non-elegant floors, to qualify for a 4 star rating; this was really an upper end 3 star, I think (except for breakfast, which was 4+!). |
