We stayed at the Great Southern for 2 nights while we were in Ireland in July, 2004. The hotel is beautiful inside. Our room was plush and clean, and the staff was very friendly. We arrived late in the evening...too late to eat in the in-house restaurant, but room service delivers certain items well into the evening. The egg-salad sandwich and cress soup with brown bread was actually very tasty, and the price wasn't bad either. The hotel is walking distance from the airport, or there is a courtesy phone inside the airport that links you directly to the hotel to call for a shuttle. A bus from the airport can take you into Cork City Centre, where you can explore on your own, or take another bus to other destinations.

I absolutely cannot say enough about this hotel. The workout area was great, the food was great, and the rooms were very clean. The location to the airport too is fantastic. Awesome!
