Very impressed by the friendliness of the staff from the first moment we arrived to the last.
Every single person was helpful and polite and all spoke English which due to my dodgy German was useful.
Particular mention to Peter the barman(Borussia Dortmund Fan) always smiling, although i have to say drinks were very expensive.
Breakfast was everything you could want and more.
Location was ideal.
Rooms kept very clean, i did suspect however that the safes provided were troublesome,we had to call the staff on two occasions to rectify.
All and all though a terrific hotel ,well done to all.

Somewhat difficut to find for car drivers, but worth looking for right in the heart of Basel and close to the airport shuttle service and the most important of the city's 3 railway stations. The Basel HQ of the Swiss banks are just a block away.
Expect excellent service, relax in a large swimming pool and modern fitness center and enjoy the nightlife. Theatres, cinemas ( the famous Tut-Anch-Amun exposition of 2004 as well) are just around the corner.
A friendly and efficient staff looks after you. While announced as an SAS hotel, you might miss Scandinavian newspapers.
Look for weekend bargains including a wealthy and healthy breakfast, Basel's mobility pass and free use of the wellness center.

Stopped here in August 2004 and would definitely recommend it. The staff were all very efficient and pleasant; the room and everywhere else was spotless. The swimming pool is pretty big and was almost deserted. Breakfast was pretty good and we were given travel cards for our stay which allowed us to use the city's trams (which stop right outside the hotel) and buses for free. Although the hotel is central it's not easy to find by car.
