Stayed here December 2002 and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the building in general and the room in particular. The staff were efficient and courteous. We've stayed at all of the airport hotels and find this one without equal. Good pizza's too.

Visiting my son, who was starting at The Glasgow School of Art, we decided to stay a little out of town, so as not to embarrass him too much. This hotel is VERY near to the airport, and it's very easy to get into Glasgow city centre, c.6 miles away (but you have to pay for parking in city centre , which is another reason to stay at Glasgow Airport hotels). City centre parking is expensive / hard to find, and most city centre hotels don't have their own parking. My wife thought this the best 3*** hotel she's ever stayed in (and we got a good deal via the Glasgow Tourist Info Centre), not that we've ever stayed in 5***** before. 'Designer'y rooms - 'earth tones' as they say / chrome / walk-in trendy shower with glass 'wall' (no baths). Giant deep red rose print behind bed, smaller versions of this in frames on the wall. Leather (?) recliner in one corner. Large bed. Dark wood, linear furniture - open-plan dflast surfaces / hangers rather than drawers and cupboards. Best feature was a giant sliding mirror that slid across in front of the window to make a complete 'mirror wall' - this also kept out all light and noise, for a good night's sleep, although there was double glazing anyway. (Slight noise of motorway from double glazing on its own.) Nearby garage sold snacks / ice etc. There is a Travel Inn (not Lodge) next to this. Breakfast was good, but service 'too' efficient - not allowed to sit where we wanted, despite 20 empty tables, and everything tidied away on the stroke of 10 (or was it 10.30?). We were on holiday; not businesspeople! For this reason, we did not eat in the Italian restaurant, which was pretty noisy at times, but looked goodish value at about ?8 for a pizza. Wine ?11+-ish per bottle. Most drinks very expensive - 2 small bottled lagers about ?5-6. We got a bottle of house wine in a trendy ice bucket and took it back to the room. But on balance, really good, and we are going again soon. There are similar, new hotels more centrally located. (Bewley's / Campanile.) The Travelodge across from the Ramada is owned by the same group, but by the time you add in their breakfast cost, the Ramada (on special promo) is just as inexpensive. Glasgow TIC were very helpful with advice / maps / parking info etc. See their Web site: ... That's it. Hope this helps.

Stayed at the Glasgow Airport Ramada on returning home from a wonderful trip in the Hebrides. The hotel was great! And the bathroom was the best I've ever seen in a hotel. I want the shower for my own house. The staff was great and I would return to the hotel on another trip to Glasgow.

Revisit comments - This hotel is still a good place to stay but still let badly down by its restaurant. Breakfast - The staff (in particular one man) still start to clear up 30mins before breakfast closing time, leaving last-minuters wondering where hald the food is. This is not efficiency - it is just bad manners and putting self before customers. Tomato juice - beware - so old it was fermenting and I had to leave it. Disgusting. Thick bubbling slime on the top is a good clue, guys! TWO days later, new juice was back. Scrambled egg - OK, but lukewarm,as all other pre-cooked food in steel warmers. On one day, the egg was obviously recycled from the previous day - chopped into bits, and pepper added to disguise the greyness. Evening meal - we decided to eat at the hotel. Our son joined us/ Being a student, it had to be pizza! We asked for a menu and took it back to the room to decide. When I started to order I was told that the 'pizza machine' (aka a wood-burning oven on the menu) had been broken for 2 weeks and still no sign of it being fixed. So why not told this before I ordered? This led to a lot of driving round and resentment, as eating in Glasgow would have been no problem anyway - we'd been there all day. Had to eventually aet in the room - chips (fries) OK, steak just OK, some bread excellent and some bread very stale. Would sttill go back but factor out the breakfast cost.
