Comfortable hotel in a handy location
The Regent is conveniently located two minutes walk from the Hauptbanhof, and fifteen from the city centre, making it an ideal base for exploring both the city itself, and day trips into the rest of Bavaria. The hotel is well appointed with friendly and helpful staff, who are always ready to give helpful information. There is a very comfortable dining room offering an excellent buffet breakfast, and also evening meals if required. There is also a pleasant bar/coffee shop. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed, although they lack tea and coffee making facilities. There were some negative comments before, about the Regent Hotel about the absence of air conditioning. But you need to remember, this is Europe, lots of hotels do not have air conditioning. Something to keep in mind if you travel in the summer to Europe. Other than that, Regent is a very comfortable hotel in a handy location. |

NOT ALL ROOMS ARE EQUAL
We arrived during Oktoberfest 2006 and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The room we were assigned was absolutely filthy and showed an incredible amount of wear: stained carpet and a window that was broken to go with dingy paint trying to cover up spray painted graffiti on the walls. The front desk Frau was unhelpful and rude.
The next day I asked for a manager and complained again. This time they switched to a room which was up to the standards of at least a 3-star. They informed me that the room I was leaving was scheduled for refurbishing. This person was as helpful as the manager of the previous night was not.
In sum, the room we were initially given should not have been rented at all. |

Smokers only
Large Rooms, well appointed bathroom with lots of fancy extras, beds in good condition , good breakfast choice. Unfortunately the non smoking rooms are not. |
