Lovely place. Breakfast included with a great rate from their website.
Super friendly staff. Liked the size of the room (stayed at another place the day before the size of a closet). Stayed here over February 15-18--only thing I could foresee changing was the door slamming at night time. The locks are a bit odd and I heard doors closing. It's a courtyard type hotel, so inner rooms can hear other's occasional conversations. Breakfast was grand. Great location.

We stayed at the Rembrandt Residence Hotel on January 1,2004. I wish we could have been there longer. The hotel was truly charming. The staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean with a beautiful picture window view of the canal. The bathroom was modern. The location was great. We were in a parklike section right on a canal.( It was just how I pictured Amsterdam to be.) We easily walked to the downtown section at night and to Central Station in the morning to get the train to the airport. I will stay there on my next trip to this wonderful city.

We've stayed at this hotel twice--the rooms are variable. If you do not like the first one you're give, ask to see another. We finally stayed in a very large room overlooking the canal. The room was great, but there was quite a lot of outside noise (from the delivery area right below our room) very early in the morning. In addition, the exterior of the hotel (overlooking the canal) is extremely brightly lit--while it looks lovely from across the canal, the light seeps into the rooms on that side of the building, even thru heavy curtains. That said, the hotel location is great, and the staff is very nice. Breakfast is okay--not good coffee, tho. If you can get a good deal on the room (discounts are often posted online) this is can be a good value.

After looking forward to taking my husband for his birthday on a 'grown
up' holiday, I was a little nervous at what we would find. Long gone
were our student days, and I was not in the mood for eye poping maiden'
s on our door stop.
Thankfully the Rembrandt was for grown ups who liked the finer things in life. We were first placed in what I can only describe as a bed with a room.
A king size bed with a mini sized room. Having to walk along the wall to get to the bathroom was not our game plan.
There was some noise from below, as we were directly above the
reception area. The staff handled our complaint with polite resoultion.
They offered to move us and take our bags. When we got back from our
day out, we were given a room on the 4th floor with beautiful views and
a complimentary bottle of wine.
The breakfast was a very 'Hostel' like probably taking advantage of the
fact that most of the guest were a little 'loved up' but it some how it
didn't seem to matter.

The hotel has plenty of character. Beautiful building from the outside. Our room overlooked the Herengracht at the front and this was a big plus. Decor and fittings in the rooms are only average but the staff are very helpful and the public areas are pleasant.

A well run ,clean well situated hotel. We loved this hotel it has a lovely view of the canal and is quiet yet central. The only thing that was missing was coffee/tea making facilities I suppose you could call room service but making your own is better. Breakfasts are excellent too.

This hotel is really as lovely as it looks in the photos! Great location, on one of the nicest canals in the area, the Herengracht. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with basic furnishings. The water pressure in the shower was incredible!

Three years in a row we have stayed at the Rembrandt Residence Hotel in Amsterdam. The location is not to be beat. The rooms are fully equiped and larger than most European hotels. The staff are friendly and fun. I have nothing but praise for this hotel. Already planning our next trip.

Stayed there Sept 2002 - excellent hotel. Great location, clean - like a Travelodge in the UK. They all speak English and the breakfasts are top too.

We recently spent two nights at The Rembrandt Hotel having not been to Amsterdam for a few Years.
The location of the hotel is excellent just far away from the Damrak and red light district ...and the area has a gentle quiet air with a number of bars and restaurants within an easy stroll.
Upon entering the hotel the staff were curtious and polite and we were given a room on the third floor
which i can only describe as smaller than my garden shed .
The roo was clean and neat but I spoke to the reception who were unable to offer me a larger room until the following night.
They were very nice but I was under the impression this complaint occurs on a regular occasion ..
Even a discount on what i considered a hefty rack rate for a hotel of this quality was not offered and the following day we were given a bigger room with a great view (Room 401 403 405 ) and descending floors will all be bigger rooms so try and specify a room when booking..
Breakfast was standard and in buffet style.
Overall it was a pleasant stay but the rooms are a let down so if its a special occasion pay a bit more for a room...
