Great hotel in a great location for a great deal
We had a wonderful stay at Rialto hotel while on city break to Barcelona. Our 4 night stay was far pleasurable as we expected after reading some reviews. We were greeted by a very smiley and helpful staff, then we were allocated in newly remodeled room that was quite comfortable and impeccable clean, yet small but it does not matter when you plan to explore the city rather than stay in the room, right?! The breakfast was diverse, plenty to choose from and the staff were always attentive. The best part about the hotel is location – just a short stroll from La Ramblas, also couple minutes from underground and buses routes with various cafes and dining places. All in all, Rialto Hotel was a nice experience, besides a nice deal.

we got this hotel as part of a package which was cheaper than seperate flights and accomodation. now i kinda wish i had paid the extra. ok, the hotel is in an excellent location and is clean, also, the breakfast choice would set you up for the day! but...there is a problem with the hot water as is said in other reviews on this site. we arrived, were given a great room, but the beds were twin instead of double - no biggie, then, we discovered no hot water.. when i told hotel they straight away gave me another room on 1st floor...it was kind of like they expected it. off we went and.....walked into the smallest room in the world! it was in middle of hotel so window looked out onto some kinda flat roof. the ensuite was sort of plonked at the end of the bed?? weird..saying all that, it is v.v.v.v. handy location wise, and the staff were nice...just be on the look out for the water thing and maybe specify type of room you want..

Have just spent a three night break at the Rialto and was surprised and delighted at the room, staff and excellent breakfast. Room more than adequate, bathroom very good and towels changed each day. Beds comfortable. All very clean. Breakfast excellent and staff all courteous and very helpful. Don't worryabout staying here. Will be going back.

This hotel is OK:VERY well located, brilliant buffet breakfast and more than adequate quad room.Nice and clean and linens changed daily.Only prob was a bit of noise at night but you must expect that in central city.Beggers? If you don't want to see beggars, ripoffs, pickpockets, and street thieves stay at home-certainly stay away from London, which has a much nastier atmosphere than Barca!

I have read reviews and can't believe some of the bad comments.
We stayed in the quad room which was basic but clean and beds were changed every day. Cleaner even folded up all our clothes and laid them out. We found all staff friendly and the lady serving in the bar was wonderful with the children. What a lovely friendly hotel in a great location.

The Rialto is perfectly located for seeing all of the sights of Barcelona, especially if you like to explore the city attractions on foot (except Montjuic area and Parc Guell which are better served by the metro or bus turistic which acn be caught in the plaza catalunya and takes you to all the city and outlying sites fro only 15 euros for a one day ticket or 19 for a 2 day ticket). At night the location really comes into its' own by being in an area that is close to some good restaraunt of all tastes, but , especially the restaraunts located in the Plaza Real which is only 75 metres away as you turn left from outside the hotel.
The Hotel itself is very clean throughout. Our room was on the first floor and fronted on to the main street Carrer de Ferran. The bed linen was changed daily and was clean and crisp. The towels in the bathroom and the accesories i.e. Shampoos etc. were also changed daily. There was noise from the street which was obvious but not intrusive. if you had an interior room the noise would be non existent. The noise is generated only because the street otside and throughout the Gothic Quarter are very narrow and the buildings reasonably tall (for the period). The breakfast is ample with unlimted amounts of both hot and cold selections. The restaraunt looks very stylish. We didn't eat at the restaraunt which has a more Catalan menu as my wife is not as adventurous with food as myself, but , obviously this is only personal preference.
All the staff in the hotel are extremely helpful and friendly, and the majority speak excellent English.

At first I was uneasy about staying here after reading the reviews, but I got a good deal so I couldn't resist trying it out. It definitely is not a 4* hotel, however the location is wonderful! It is walking distance to Las Ramblas and the Cathedral! Perfect location for a day of walking and sightseeing.

I have just returned with my wife and two sons, twelve and nine, from five day stay at the Rialto. What we liked was how central the hotel is. Its located just off the Ramblas the main tourist street, and near to the harbour. The building (and rooms) are clean and tidy, and the staff friendly.Room furniture a little 'tired' but clean and adequate for our short stay. We were on the 3rd floor but had hot water! Maybe the hotel management had read some of the other reviews. A pipe burst put the cold water off for a couple of hours, but this was quickly sorted and to be honest I think most guests would have been out in the sunshine and not noticed (it was a hot week).Breakfast/dinning room vey impressive, breakfast buffet good but dinners a little too 'fishy' for me. Also with youngish kids less exotic dishes would have been wellcome. Not a big problem as wide range of eateries from fast food to haut quisine on the doorstep.Earlier contributer commented on the 'warren like' layout and potential problems if a fire but there was ceratinly a smoke alarm in our room and alarms and sprinklers evident in the dinning room. I got the impression that there appears to be improvement going on.Only problem was noise from street cafe at 3 am each morning putting their tables/chairs away only to repeat the performance in reverse at 7 am.Overall I would go back again and would have no fears about recommending it to others.
