The Ritz is the essence of the palace experience, and I just spent a few wonderful days at the hotel. Positive points: grand surroundings, superb pool, superior and kind service (they brought me a cashmere blanket when I felt cold one night, I disliked the first room and they gave me a nicer one right away), unforgettable breakfast at the main Espadon restaurant, great bars and shops. Negative points: separate but poorly-equipped shower in the bathroom, bed too short, slightly dated room decoration and fitness area. I stayed in a room in the Vend?me wing (the Cambon wing is more intimate) and had a special winter rate. Value for money: ok but expensive, George V probably better in that category. Still, a unique experience.

I have stayed in many of the best hotels in Europe and the Ritz Paris ranks as the best.
The location is very good-close to the Louve and the upscale shops on Place Vendome and Rue St Honore. It is also handy to the exciting night life of the Marais.
The service is amazing and attentive. The consierge was able to get us into restrauants that we had been warned would be impossible to get into. The valet returned our rental car when we arrived in Paris and decided that we did not want to risk our lives in Paris traffic trying to locate a gas station and the rental car office.
The experience and treatment we received at the Ritz was worthy of royalty.

This was the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen.
We had a very nice time here. We couldn't believe our room, it was a deluxe with high ceilings and a chandelier above the bed. The bathroom had gold swan faucets...very luxurious.
The staff was great, the restaurante was wonderful and the Hemmingway bar was one of a kind.
One thing I do have to say though is that the gigantic antique French tapestry on our bedroom wall had an unusual subject....a dog going to the bathroom...not sure what that was all about but as long as you didn't look at it too long it didn't bother you.

Just got back from a great stay at the Ritz. We took our kids 3,5, and7 years old...and they loved it! My daughter turned 7 when we were there and the hotel Manager sent her a delicious cake, and a personalized birthday card. It was so kind. The location was ideal, and the hotel drips of old world class. Everyone was kind and helpful with our young children, we felt very safe there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and I think that it is a must see. We ran into a few famous people ...
only thing I would maybe change would be the peach towels in the bathrooms.

We stayed in the Ritz on the last night of our honeymoon last winter, and it certainly lived up to its mystique. Yes, the room was significantly more than most of the suites we had stayed in at various countryside chateaus, but we had accepted that beforehand. The hotel interior was simply grand, the staff was quite helpful (including a maitre d' from L' Espadon who helped me procure some cigars for my father-in-law at 10 AM on the morning of our departure despite being quite busy). The 4 or 5 cigars, by the way, cost more than most of our nice meals, but they were a big hit back home. Our room (upgraded without request) was cozy, not to the point of being small as some reviewers have indicated, but intimate. The decor was quite nice, with a tapestry, antique desk, and very comfortable bed. The amenities were very modern, and we were quite happy to purchase and take back home one of their soothinig robes. Being very tired by that point, we opted for room service instead of dining at L'Espadon, but we were rewarded there with a very good dinner of an excellent tomato bisque, salad, magnificent roast duck, and a fruit and cheese plate. I look forward to visiting there again to enjoy a few drinks at the Hemingway Bar. And yes, even in our 1 night there, we saw a recognizable Hollywood film star walking the main halls, as impressed with the place as we were.

Just returned from our latest trip to the Ritz. Happy to report that the service and the property itself are still at their peak. After many trips to Europe, and staying at some of the best hotels therein, I have to say that our favorite remains the Ritz (George V coming in a close second).
