What a surprise !
We stayed for a couple of nights at The Royal, and were delighted. Our room turned out to be a suite above the main entrance, with a modern clean bathroom, a pleasant sitting room, and a huge bedroom complete with chandelier (fitted with low energy bulbs !)
The staff were pleasant and firendly, and the location excellent.

Central, Clean and Cheap
The best thing about the Hotel Royal is undoubtedly its central location - it is literally opposite Wawel Castle and it is about five minutes walk to the main square. Its location is also quite scenic: a small but very verdant park runs along one side.
The Hotel itself is divided into two wings, one of which is rated as 4 stars while the other is rated as 2 stars. we had a large room with a balcony over looking the little park, The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful and all spoke very good English. The buffet breakfast was tasty and filling and there was lots of it.
To conclude, I would gladly recommend the Hotel Royal to all tourists interested in central, clean and cheap accommodation.
