LOCATION AND STAFF = 10
I Recently stayed at the Russell Hotel. It is conveniently located near to a series of interest points, few meters from the underground station and bus. You can go from Heathrow to Russel square underground station. You can go walking to British Museum. My room was a renewed and spacious room. Wirelees free only at the "net room".

For you an upgrade! wonderful words
Lovely words to be greeted with. one night with my wife in may we were attending a conference in Bloomsbury. Spendid value. We only paid £125 for bed and full breakfast. the upgrade to the Queen Victoria Suite was a great bonus. Staff delightful. bed very comfortable. lots of very grand Victorain marble. Breakfast first class. last time we were in london we stayed at the insanely expensive "Savoy" for two nights: honestly the staff here were much more pleasant and accomodating. On an internet deal price it is tremendous value. there is no Spa/ pool but at these prices you cannot expect that in Central London. Great location. Very near underground and mainline staions. we would certainly stay here again

GREAT HOTEL-GREAT LOCATION
The hotel was centrally located and a walking distance from Soho , China town and the main museums. Right next to the underground. Staff extremely polite and helpful, especially at the information desk. Great value of money. Definitely stay there again.

Ideally located...
I recently stayed at the Russell Hotel. It is conveniently located at the heart of Bloomsbury. It is centrally located within walking distance to British Museum and Covent Garden. My room was a spacious room with satisfactory facilities. It was overlooking the Russell Square Park. Bathroom was nice with bath. Food was delicious. The hotel bar was the ideal place for relaxation. Well, i had a comfortable stay at Russell Hotel I think it offers good facilities compared to the price.

excellent value in a great location
Russell Hotel has a lot of old, British character, and it is an excellent value in a great location. It is within walking distance to the British Museum and the Tube station to hit other major attactions. The rooms are small as one would expect for a hotel of this age, but it is affordable and comfortable. I would defintely stay at Russell Hotel again.

Very lovely Russell Hotel with friendly staff and fantastic location
The location of Russell Hotel was fantastic for our needs with just a short walk to the British Museum and a few steps around the corner to a tube station. Our "standard" room was small and the mattress a bit lumpy but did not anyhow spoil the night sleep. The AC worked great! and overall, the hotel is lovely and the staff was friendly. I would definitely stay at Russell Hotel again.

Victorian Elegance cenrally located
The exterior and public areas of Russell Hotel are set in "Victorian Elegance." My room was quite nice - not large, but adequate by most standards and large by European standards. I did not take breakfast at the hotel, but there is a nice little cafe right across the street facing Russell Park, a delightful little green oasis. And the subway connecting you to all of London is only a couple of short blocks around the corner from the hotel entrance.
The staff were very friendly and the service in the bar, which has worn leather wing-backed chairs and a lovely ambience, was of the highest standard. The bar staff were very attentive, as was the staff on the reception desk.
I would recommend Russell Hotel to anyone wanting to visit London and stay somewhere comfortable and central.

Superb Location
Me and my cousin have chosen to stayed at Russell Hotel due to its convenient location and reasonable price while on break to London. Russell Hotel is about 1 block from the underground station. Russell Square park is right across the street. Easy walking distance to British Museum, University College of London, and many relatively cheap places to eat.
The hotel lobby and entrance is wonderful, the size of a twin room was exactly as expected - relatively small, but with a modern, clean bathroom. Would recommend Russell Hotel based on location and reasonable price. Scott E. Glasgow

Breakfast was below average, and the quality of products served also below average. On the first morning I had a hell of a time getting butter instead of margerine, and by the time it arrived the toasts were stone cold.
We had dinner there one night as a group and the food was brutally expensive and very poor in both quantity and quality.

We stayed in a standard double January 13-16, 2004, booked through one of the discount sites. We got a very good deal, and I would say the amenities do live up to the 4* rating. The room had recent carpet, queen bed with nice bedding, great furniture and a sparkling clean bathroom that was quite large by London standards. We arrived at noon, three hours before check-in, but were immediately given our room. Some nice extras included an iron, trouser press, hair dryer and working towel warmer. The hotel is in an EXCELLENT location, walkable to the British Museum, Covent Garden, the theatres, all the West End sites and right across from the Russell Square Tube for those who prefer not to walk or for longer trips. The historic building is beautiful and the bar and restaurants (though not patronized) looked very nice and had reasonable prices. Though we got a better deal through a discount site, the posted rates also seem a bargain by comparison to posted rates of similar hotels. The only thing preventing me from giving it an "excellent" rating is that the water was not very hot in the shower-- even at 7am (tip: turn the water past the "scald guard" to get a little warmer). This could have been an anomaly, though, and certainly was not a hardship. Overall, I would say this is a great place to stay in a great city.
