Location, Location, Location!
If you want to be near the center of the action in Venice, this is the place to be. The hotel is a just a short stroll to San Marco Square and right at a water bus stop. The rooms are typically small but clean. The hotel has a nice sidewalk restaurant on the Grand Canal that offers a good daily breakfast and dinner. If you don't mind the crowds, this is an excellent stop for first-time visitors.

Really enjoyed this hotel! Fabulous location just two blocks from San Marco/Doge's palace. Vaporetto to the Airport and Grand Canal leaves from right outside the door. Very comfortable bed in average size room. Buffet breakfast was nice but really loved the tables outside overlooking the lagoon! Food was great and reasonable. Hotel staff very helpful. Would stay there again, but this time in one of the rooms overlooking the lagoon!

Great Location. Close to everything. The 25% discount at the restaurant is a good deal plus the food is good. The staff is rather stuffy. All requests were delt with but they always made you feel that you were a bit of a bother. Our suite was on the 2nd floor, two balconys but both were too small to sit out and enjoy the view. Large bathroom, jacuzzi, very small shower, you can't turn around it it. All in all, I recomend it.

This was my third visit to the city and I was very pleasantly surprised with this facility. I knew, of course, that the location would be great but the value and the service were the real surprises. Not that any of my other earlier choices like the Gritti were bad but when you factor in price, this hotel emerges as a superb choice!

Took the advice of trip advisor and booked the hotel through gtahotels. I wasn't able to request a room with a view on the site, so I called the hotel directly after booking it to request an upgrade.
Our room was very standard. No view whatsoever. It was quite small, but charming. The bath was huge! A juccuzi tub and separate shower (which we were unable to figure out the operation of) We took advantage of the 25% off at the hotel restaurant and had a decent meal. On our other night we took the advice of the front desk clerk and visited a wonderful restaurant. Best of all is the price, and location.

Excellent staff! We arrrived late and the hotel was willing to keep the kitchen open. What ever we asked for they were willing to help with. Location can not be beat a few steps from St. Marks Square. Room was spacious and well appointed.

We arrived and were initially disappointed our room didn't have a jacuzzi as i'd booked, this was quickly dealt with, we were given a fabulous room on the 4 th floor(top) had a jacuzzi, balcony, fantastic views across the bay,Food was avergage but room made up for it. Stay in a suite on the 4th floor if you can. Stayed 4 nights august 02

Had Jr. Suite here and the room/location was fabulous. Large room with huge double twin/matrimoniale bed, large sofa, plenty of built in shelves and hanging, two small balconies (standing room for 1 maybe 2 people on each balcony), large tub, towel warmer with 2 large fluffy robes, in-room safe. Situated right on the lagoon beautiful view of San Giorgo Island and Santa Maria church, less than 5 minute walk to San Marco, directly in front of the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop. Quiet at night, all the lagoon front rooms have full height, power, exterior metal blinds (venetian blinds??) that are controlled by switch directly next to bed, keeps the room dark in the morning and keeps out any lagoon noise in the night. Highly Recommended.

Stayed here in March, 2002 for 3 nights -- a highlight of my trip to Italy!! The room, though somewhat small, had Venetian glass lamps and wall sconces, red brocade-type wall coverings with gold braid in the corners, a very comfortable bed, a modern bathroom with plenty of hot water, and a fluffy white robe. I did not have a room with a view, but didn't mind because I still felt like a princess and slept like a baby! In addition to the ultra-convenient location, the restaurant was good, and the staff (particularly Roberto Manca) was spectacular. They went out of their way to be helpful and were exceptionally friendly as well. I hope to stay here on every future trip to Venice!!

For the price, easily the most affordable and magical hotel in Venice. Our room, with a view for an artist's masterpiece, was furnished with gorgeous Venetian tapestry drapes and headboards, while the floor lamp, sconces, and chandelier were all done in the most exquisite shades of cream, gold and pink Venetian glass. I don't need to look anywhere else when I go to Venice again; I will always come back and stay at the Savoia.
