Finland at its best
Perfect welcome... excellent rooms... right in the center of action of Mobilephone Mekka Helsinki (museums, shopping, bus station, railway station, airport bus). Enjoy free morning/evening sauna (or both !!)

Stayed here for 3 nights in August 2003. The location could not be better, just off the main drag, a short walk to the train station and most of the shops. The rooms are the epitome of Nordic chic with clean lines and blond wood; even the corridors are stylish. The downside is that the hotel was very busy and wasn't really staffed to match. Our TV didn't work and it took 5 calls to reception over 2 days to get it fixed. There was a great choice at the breakfast buffet but it was really busy - not a place to nurse a hangover! It's well worth the short ferry crossing from Helsinki to the Estonian capital, Talinn. We stayed at the UniqueStay hotel which is also very stylish in a lower-key way.

If you want to watch the most busy square in Helsinki, here it is with its buses going to all party of this large countries. In additon, you may watch ministers arriving at the Finnish Houses of Parliament. But relax ! Scandic is a guarantee for best room and service standards. Start the day with a morning sauna in a great wellness area or your private environement. All famous shopping addresses and many corporate offices lie right at your front door. -Stockmann's is one of Europe's best bookstores and the place for buying fashion. Take the bus to Nokia from the square mentioned above. Enjoy the bar at your hotel or the night life in the city. You will love it int summer as well as in winter.

The hotel has trendy interior & is superbly located if you are into shopping & partying. The rooms are modern and fairly large, the bathrooms clean and functional. I loved the lobbybar which had great prices and drinks fit for sailors...(had to order extra mixer - my god, those finns love their vodka!). The city is cool and idyllic. It's very scandinavian, but with a russian feel to it. I was surprised to see how trendy it was with great cafés and restaurants. The food is tasty and much cheaper than in the rest of Scandinavia. Worth a visit!

I took my spouse there for a one night's stay in the hotel's deluxe room. We had our own private sauna (bathrobes included) and a balcony with a view over the city. I had also a breakfast delivered to our room in the morning - I've never had a better and larger hotel breakfast than that. The interiors are really great if you happen to like the Scandinavian style, like I do.
