The Scotsman is a luxurious 5-star boutique hotel located in the heart of Edinburgh on Edinburgh’s historical North Bridge, one minute stroll from Waverly mainline train station. The hotel location is great for the Hogmanay street celebrations over New Year's Eve which are a mere 5 minute walk away. This hotel famous for its high standard of accommodation and service is housed within the magnificent Scotsman Newspaper building. While the newspaper has long since moved out, the buildings restoration was careful not to eradicate the stunning wooden panelled reception room that is now the bar and brassiere which serves the Edinburgh elite. The Scotsman boasts a spa and health club which is open to hotel guests and private members. The spa and health club is contemporary in design and uses neutral tones and clean lines to create a soothing environment. Dedicated to relaxation, beauty and well-being, the spa includes seven spacious treatment rooms, a relaxation room for guests to use before and after spa services, a 16m indoor swimming pool, a fully equipped gym and fitness area with sixty fitness stations, an aerobics studio with over 25 classes per week and a sauna and steam room. There are also personal trainers available. The junior suites known as the “Publisher Suites” are enhanced by a separate drawing or dining room, or with a luxurious area which is divided from the bedroom. The average size of these suites is 52.5sqm. All suites have wonderful views ranging from The Firth of Forth, Calton Hill, The Old Town of Edinburgh with its Castle, and Princes Street with the Scott Monument and Gardens. All “Publisher Suites” feature Egyptian cotton bed linen, complimentary shoeshine, complimentary water on turn down, complimentary newspaper, Edinburgh Monopoly Board, DVD player, broadband printer and a personal safe to fit a laptop. Bathrooms have Cowshed bathroom toiletries and bathrobe and slippers. Throughout the hotel there is wireless internet access. |

2. Cancellations made within the cancellation deadline will be assessed a 1 night room rate unless cancellation policy is defined different.
3. No-shows will be assessed a 1 night room rate unless cancellation policy is defined different.
4. No cancellations on or after check-in date.

an old fashioned hotel with all the trimmings, staff could not of been more helpful, the rooms are excellent and the roll top bath a delight, would recomend a stay in the scotsman to anyone that whats to be pampered in Edinburgh
I was a bit concerned on our choice of hotel after reading the previous review a few days before we went. However, on arrival, the hotel & staff were second to none! We had booked a great deal online & arrived to find we had been upgraded to a Publisher Suite!...
