Location, Climate

Scottsdale is the desert version of Miami's South Beach because of its vibrant nightlife. This bustling city is situated in Arizona's Maricopa County and next to Phoenix. The climate of Scottsdale is arid with extremely hot summers and mild winters. Avoid booking a cheap hotel between June and August if you don't want to get scorched by the heat. Book online to get the best deals in cheap hotels.

The Hohokam were the first inhabitants of Scottsdale. They stayed in Scottsdale from 800 AD to 1400 AD building irrigation canals and cultivated farming in the area. Before the Europeans arrived in Scottsdale, it used to be a village occupied by the Pima peoples. They named this place Vasai S-vasoni which means “rotting hay”.
