great location, otherwise average
The Comfort Inn Bayswater is placed in a quiet garden square, which was looking nice and beautiful. The hotel is very close to the shopping centers and restaurants in the Queensway. Notting Hill areas, Hyde Park and Kensington Palace and Gardens are all within a walking distance, so I never found any difficulty to reach the hotel though I was in London for the first time. The hotel looks like an elegant Victorian Town House Hotel. My room was tiny but clean being cleaned on daily basis. The hotel staff was not friendly in particular but was efficient. The breakfast was ok, nothing special. Overall, Comfort Inn Bayswater is well located, otherwise it was an average experience.

noisy room
I stayed in a noisy room.It overlooked a very small courtyard in the centre of the hotel. My window was in close proximity to and directly opposite the window from reception.I could hear every sound from all the rooms, conversations etc.The small courtyard area acted as an 'echo chamber.'

I recently visited London with my French penfriend and wanted a traditional English hotel to show her. This certainly fitted the bill. Our room was quite small with an even smaller bathroom and it was placed to the rear of the hotel on the second floor, overlooking other buildings and a roof garden. It was very clean.
I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly - especially when I mentioned some problems we'd had with our trip to Madame Tussauds. The receptionist went out of her way to look up the telephone number for me and write it on a slip for me without even being asked!
The breakfast room is very small, but they have tried to create a "larger look" for it by placing mirrors on every wall!! The breakfast was okay, but to have to pay ?5.95 for a continental-type breakfast was a bit overpriced!
This hotel is placed in a square and it is very quiet. With a little walk, there are many restaurants nearby.
I would certainly recommend this hotel and, for the price, it is very good value.

What a great little typical English town house hotel !!! The room was not huge but really fine for us - and we were not travelling light ! The hotel is very clean and housekeeping attentive to detail. Most of all the staff were super-friendly and eager to help us with the smallest thing on our first visit to Europe. We toured Europe on our trip but, of all the hotels we stayed at - including the 4 stars type -I remember Comfort Inn Bayswater most fondly and we will be happy to go back there as soon as we can afford the trip again !! WELL DONE !!

Beautiful garden square and lovely real English town house hotel - totally different to what I am used to - but the staff were really friendly and so helpful with everything I needed on my first visit to London. It was really quiet, exceptionally friendly and very clean and, best of all, very, very reasonably priced ! I could not ask for more.

I have stayed at this Hotel Jan 29, 2004. While the room itself was quite small and compact, it was very clean and comfortable, provinding a very nice restful night's sleep. The location is really great-just a short stroll from Queensway with many shops and restaurants, and there are two tube stations on Queensway, basically taking you everywhere within minutes. On Bayswater road you can take the 96 Bus direct to Oxford Street or Picadilly Circus. Also on Bayswater there is the bus Stop for the A2 Bus from Heathrow Airport, which is an economical and practical way into town if you land at LHR. The location of the Hotel is on a side street and a large green square with almost no traffic.
Very pleasant stay and nice staff that were always thre to assist. I will be back there-esspecially since their rates are so economical for London standards

We REALLY liked this hotel - great location, quiet street, great staff, very convenient, very reasonably priced all in all BUT we were in London during a heat wave and our room was really tiny and almost airless! There are executive rooms with big windows at the front of the hotel and, since the street is quiet, this would definitely be better during the summer. It probably is not such a problem at other times of the year. O/W be prepared for a small but all in all well-designed room.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn Bayswater for 5 days at the beginning of July. I had a single room with a small window in the basement. The room was clean and serviced on daily basis and when I asked for spare towel at reception in the evening, I was given one in 5 minutes. The breakfast was standard and lacked fresh fruit, but the staff was courteous and friendly. I travel a lot and am used to hotel anonymity, so I was nicely surprised to receive an invitation for complimentary drink for my birthday at the hotel bar (ordered by the attentive receptionist which I chatted to the same morning). The hotel has excellent location, close to 2 tube stations and a main street with lots of restaurants and shopping centre. It was also safe to walk at night. I will deffinitely stay at the Comfort Inn next time I am in London, great place at a reasonable price!!
