Hotel Orkin is the Faroese Seaman’s Home in Reykjavík. It therefore tries to employ Faroese people on its staff. And the managing director of the hotel is also Faroese. The Faroese people have a special relationship to the Seaman´s Home. Hotel Orkin is a modern hotel with a comfortable atmosphere, and with an emphasis on cleanliness. All members of the staff speake English.
The manager of the hotel is Faroese and has worked at the hotel for one year. He and his staff will endeavour to make your stay at the Hotel Orkin as enjoyable as possible. The manager also is responsible for the Christian meetings held in the hotel during the winter as part of the Faroese Seaman´s Mission. Everyone is welcome to participate in theese meetings.
The Faroese Seamans home, Hotel Orkin is a privatly owned establishment. The Board consists of Faroese people living in the Faroe Islands in addition to people who live in Reykjavik. The Board holds it`s annual meating each spring, either in Reykjavík or in the Faroe Islands. |

Hotel Orkin is centrally located in Reykjavik, being within a 15-20 minutes walk from the old centre, and 10 minutes away from the new centre. Public transport is available. To fly from the Faroe Icelands to Iceland takes just 1 hour and 15 minutes. And to sail with the new ferry takes 16 hours to Seydisfjordur on the east coast.
Reykjavik is a little but very lively city which is marked by being in the middle between America and Europe. The city is known for it´s cultural exhibistions of fine art as well as of it´s multi cultural resturants and cafe´s. Reykjavik is the center of commerce in Iceland. Here you will get the latest fashion, the newest technology and the greatest variety of the multi culture that is forming in Iceland. Reykjavik is not one of the biggest cities but there is no need to be bored. In the city you find everything your heart desires. |

* Saloon:
Breakfast is included in the price, and is served from 7:30 until 10:00 every morning. Those who are leaving earlier than normal breakfast time can organize their breakfast time by contacting the clerk at the reception desk. Lunch and dinner meals are not served in the saloon at Orkin, unless for groops which have made a special deal about this service.
* Breakfast closes at 10:00 am but the saloon remains open for guests. You can always buy coffee, tea and some sweetes during the day. In the evening it can be nice to sit down in the saloon and play cards etc. If you want to have it comfortable, you can sit in the cosy corner of the saloon and watch television.
* Conference & Meetings:
Hotel Orkin has a very nice and well equipped conference & meeting room, which takes up to 80 persons. The hotel also has a smaller conference and meeting room. |

* Hotel Orkin has 20 double rooms. All rooms have private facilities (toilet, wash basin and shower), television and telephone. The view from the room is spectacular. The rooms on the 3rd floor have 4 beds. 2 beds are situated on a hems. These rooms are excellent for families and groups. |

| CANCELLATION POLICY |

1. No penalty for cancellations up to the defined cancellation deadline of Sjomannaheimilid Orkin Hotel Reykjavik.
2. Cancellations made within the cancellation deadline will be assessed a 1 night room rate unless cancellation policy is defined different.
3. No-shows will be assessed a 1 night room rate unless cancellation policy is defined different.
4. No cancellations on or after check-in date.
