The hotel's name comes from the traditional furniture sofa , which can be found in each of the hotel's luxurious 82 rooms. The hotel, located in the city's chic Nisantasi district, features 17 Suites which are also available for medium and long-term stay. |

Sofa Hotel & Residence is located in Nisantasi, Istanbul's fashionable shopping and gourmet centre. Here you will find shops selling exclusive international brands such as Gucci and Armani alongside luxury local brands like Beymen, Mudo, Yargici and Igs. This area of town is also home to art galleries and studios showcasing traditional and contemporary art and design. At night Nisantasi becomes the centre of Istanbul nightlife where you can find upscale restaurants, nightclubs and bars. Istanbul has a lot to offer when it comes to sightseeing - the Haghia Sophia Dome, known as Aya Sofya is considered the world’s finest example of Byzantine architecture. Topkapi Palace, originally built as a summer residence and the seat of government, was home to a harem, state administration and military personnel in the 16th century. The Sultanahmet Camii (Blue Mosque) is Islam' answer to Haghia Sophia, the symbol and centre of religious demonstrations. Yerebatan Sarayi (Basilica Cistern), sometimes referred to as the Sunken Palace, was the reservoir for water required for the Byzantine Great Palace. Galata Kulesi (Galata Tower) is another must see attraction with its top balcony offering an unforgettable view of the city. Built in 1348 by the Genovese as part of their fortifications, this distinctive 62m (205ft) tower with conical roof is visible from most of the city. |
