Location, Climate
Sweden is the largest Scandinavian country in Northern Europe and the third largest country in the European Union by area. Sweden borders Norway and Finland, and it is connected to Denmark by the bridge of Öresund. Sweden has a temperate climate, it has four distinct seasons and mild temperatures throughout the year. There are three types of climate indeed; an oceanic climate in the southernmost part, a humid continental climatein the central part and a subarctic climate in the northernmost part.
Brief History
Sweden emerged as an independent country during the Middle Ages. In the 17th century, the country enlargened its territories and formed the Swedish Empire. The empire was one of the great powers of Europe in the 17th and 18th century. Then they lost most of the conquered territories outside the Scandinavian Peninsula. Since 1814, Sweden has been at peace. Sweden has been a member of the European Union since 1 January 1995 and is a member of the OECD.

Keep in mind that traveling by night can be dangerous due to wild animals on the roads, and the cold nights during the winter. There are nice cycle paths in most cities of the country, renting a bike can be a good method of getting around.
