Stayed at the Taormina Hotel March 2008
We spent a week at the Taormina Hotel in Rome. Very convenient to the City Center, close to a couple of Metro Stations, iron rail streetcar runs down the street in front of hotel, and bus stops are close by. It's within easy walking distance from the Termini. You can get around easily and cheaply in Rome from this hotel.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Assisted us in contacting our air carrier, United, who does not have a listing in the Rome phone book.
The continental breakfast was a little spartan -- rolls, cheese, butter, jam, and a hot drink machine.
Our room entrance was from the adjacent street level door to the building and was on the 3rd floor. There is an elevator. Bothe the street level door and the entrance to the Taoriman's bank of rooms have solid, sturdy, locked doors.
Bonus, Rome's second most famous and oldest gellato store is next door and is most reasonably priced.
All things taken into consideration, we'd stay at the Taormina on our next trip to Rome. We knew the neighborhood, we'd stayed just a few blocks away on a previous visit. |
