Perfect location
This hotel is located at a perfect location for a visitor to the city. The Hotel service was fine, and the room, although very small was also fine. Breakfast was also fine. All in all, I was happy to have stayed there, and could recommend it to anyone who is not looking for the ultimate luxury, but who is looking for a very good location, and better than adequate service and installation. Only one serious warning: I was on the first floor and the noise from the party crowd on Fleet St. was quite noisy well into the early morning hours. Try to get a room on the upper floors, which I suppose may be quieter. Of course, that´s the price to pay for being in the middle of everything.

Absolutely nothing to complain, great experience
Recently stayed at Temple Bar hotel Dublin for 5 nights. Frankly, I cannot fault anything about Temple Bar Hotel. Had a blast.
The Temple Bar Hotel is a great mid sized hotel in the heart of Dublin’s most attractive area, with everything within a walking distance. Nothing negative to be said, as the personnel were all courteous and genuinely friendly; the room was clean with loads of space decorated in tradition style yet with a modern touch, like flat screen; full Irish breakfast cooked to order - not buffet style was great. The only inconvenience was the noise coming from outside, from late night partygoers, but that did not spoil our night sleep.
Overall, I would strongly recommend Temple Bar Hotel, as it is well located, offers a good service and accommodation – great value for money.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! It's right in the heart of everything, and near enough to all the pubs to not worry about a taxi. We could hear the sounds of the nightlife outside if we had the windows open, but closed it was quiet enough to fall right asleep. The staff was incredibly friendly and we had everything we could ever need. The only drawback we had was the size of the room. 7 feet in width! Not that we needed more space, it was just a bit crowded. We will definitely stay in this hotel again!

Prior to booking the Temple Bar hotel I did read the comments on this web page. What surprises me most is that people were surprised by the level of noise? This is a drinking quarter in Dublin For a weekend in Temple Bar it was excellent rooms, staff & bar & food. Location spot on!

I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect, very central to everything. The staff was nice, the room was clean. The only minor complaint we had is that it gets a bit noisy as the weekend approaches.

Charming, wonderful location, clean, etc., HOWEVER, there is so much noise right outside hotel until 5:00am, it is impossible to sleep. It is like the noiseist fraternity party all over Temple Bar area and this hotel has front row seats to the action. We were there in August and can only assume it is relatively quiet when weather is cold. Hotel advised it is noisy 7 days a week!

This is a perfectly adequate hotel in a good location. They had free newspapers for guests to take which is pretty good for a hotel at this level. The breakfast is not limited to the standard "fry-up" that you get in many Irish B&Bs. There are buffet alternatives, and plenty of juice available.
As to noise, we live in a city, and are used to some noise. It was no problem for us (midweek late May 2004), even though we had a front room. Madrid is much noisier.
The front desk, at that time, was rather confused. I think they were understaffed and undertrained. I suspect that there had been some sort of management change relatively recently.
We saw many people having problems with bills, so as we had an early morning flight out, requested our bill the night before. We waited but they were busy and so went out. When we came back the staff had changed and did not know about our request. There was one guy on, who said he was the "night manager". He produced a bill that was way too high.
We had booked by phone on the basis of a special midweek 2 day rate in a Belfast Telegraph advertisement. We discovered that the guy on the desk had not been there long. After a bit of insistence he got the bar manager who had a lengthy experience with the hotel. He sorted it out - even a bit in our favour to do with the Euro/Sterling rate and what we had been charged on deposit.
This was not an attempt to rip us off. Instead it was just disorganization, and I am sure, would easily have been sorted out if the reservations office had been open. So, the advice is, confirm carefully what is the cost, get the name of the booker (we had that), and documentation (we had the newspaper advertisement) and confirm on check-in that their computer says what you think it should say (we slipped up here). Things were resolved fine so this should not put you off - just allow for it.
I would stay again - but only if I get a reasonable price - as I did this time. The mid-week specials are particularly good.
