The Temple Gate Hotel in the centre of the historic town of Ennis, Co. Clare rests on the site of a 19th century Convent of Mercy with a fascinating and eventful history.
This family-owned hotel was built in the mid '90s on the site of a 19th century convent, to a design that retains the older features including a church. Existing gothic themes have been successfully blended into the new throughout the hotel, creating a striking modern building which has relevance to its surroundings in the heart of a medieval town, and succeeds in providing the comfort and convenience demanded by today's travellers, at a reasonable price.
