This small boutique hotel is very typical of other Manhattan-style walk ups in the area, however the only thing that separates it’s counterparts is it’s colorful decor and Morroccan theme. Located in New York city’s youthful upper west side, this intimate hotel is in close proximity to a myriad of choices to enhance your New York experience.
The enchantment of North Africa await each guest here at the Marrekech. Located in a very energetic area of the Upper West side and while staying in this area one cannot help to pick up the wonderful sense of history in all of the area’s architecture such as the rows of limestone walk-ups that make up many of Manahattan’s streets. This trendy hotel was originally built in 1911 with a common four-story height like many other of it’s neighboring buildings, and a typical flight of stairs greet you at the front door, with no exsisting lift in the hotel. Given this historical status and the general, set-up of the building, with stairs to climb, this hotel may be better suited towards a younger set of guests.

The Marrakech Hotel is in a fantastic location, situated on upper Broadway, that will supply it’s guests with a never-ending variety of the slices of life in the Big Apple. Within a five block radius there are over fifty international cuisine restaurants to choose from and many small and intimate jazz clubs that are synonomous with this area. Breakfast can be had just next door at Starbuck’s coffee.
The subway line is located directly across the street for a quick hop to downtown to the hip areas of Soho or Trıbeca. Or in the opposite direction lies the prismatic neighborhood of Harlem. There you can see the infamous Apollo theatre and then after sampling a highly colorful shopping experience, settle down in an authentic soul food restaurant.
Walk to the famed Central Park and get immersed in it’s size and silence. Or if museums are more favored, the Museum of Modern Art and Natural History Museum are minutes away. |
