We stayed here with family for two nights. We had a family wedding reception here and I can say we were totally impressed with the service, food and presentation. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough for you. The bedrooms were spotless and breakfast was delicious, with a great choice on offer. I will definitley be going back to stay in this hotel.

SHELLSHOCK AT THE SHELBOURNE
We stayed at The Shelbourne for three nights. The staff there were extremely professional. They were courteous, very pleasant and enormously helpful. The food and service in all the restaurants was excellent. However, for whatever reason, we were placed in a room (Room 469) which appeared to be specifically reserved for handicapped clients, with all the appropriate facilities. The room itself was fine, although I would not have described it as a 'Deluxe Room.' There was an adjoining door to the next room whereby it was especially easy to hear our neighbours. Thus when our neighbours arrived back at 2:00am in the morning we were woken up by them ordering food and speaking loudly. However, my main concern was the bathroom, which was a complete letdown. The shower consisted of a cheap and somewhat worn out plastic shower curtain, which did not fit completely around the shower, nor did it reach the floor. There was no shower basin, so the water ran onto the bathroom floor and some water even seeped into the bedroom itself. This certainly did put a damper on our stay there. We visit Dublin between 3 and 4 times a year, and normally stay at The Westbury or another central Dublin hotel. This was our first time at The Shelbourne. Sadly, we shall not be returning there. It was also the first time (I think) that we booked through Otel, com. Regretfully, we shall not be using your service again. It appears that we were penalised for booking through your company and for not paying the full rate for our stay at the hotel, and were placed in an inferior room. It seems that the adage 'You get what you pay for' remains true. My advice to future residents at The Shelbourne, is by all means stay at the hotel, but avoid Room 469.

Very enjoyable stay
We stayed at The Shelbourne for one night last week. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff were excellent. My husband mentioned it was my birthday and when we returned to our room there was a plate of macaroons with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate. A lovely surprise. It was very enjoyable watching the world go by in the Oyster Bar and breakfast was very good. My husband had fantastic eggs benedict. We will be back.

Stayed at the hotel as a birthday treat and having read so much about this hotel I was expecting a lot. I wasn't disappointed, from the room to the service to the food just perfect and we will be back!

Great Hotel in Central Dublin
Eight of us traveled in Ireland making the Shelbourne our base staying there 4 days not consecutive. The hotel rooms are large, comfortable and clean with modern baths, The Irish breakfast was more than adequate with all you would want to eat. The bars and restaurant are great and well appointed. All four couple rate this as one of the best. It is also centrally located across from St Stephens Green and a few blocks from Trinity College. Your stay there will not be a disappointment.

Very poor experience
Was guest 9-14 thru 9-18,2011. Has turned into a hotel for Tours. Lobby piled high with luggage, tour buses out front, breakfast with about 80 others most with backpacks, poor room service. They need more help to care for these tours. Average room looking worm. Not a 5 Star property. Exellent concierge; Denis T.C. O'brien and location otherwise not for me.
