Better than just 2 star hotel
My wife and I recently returned from Paris. We chose to stay at the Timhotel Palais Royal Louvre which is both convenient and economically priced. Situated on a quite street, Timhotel Palais Royal is a great base to access by foot most of the attractions in Paris, only 5 minutes from the Lourve via the Palais Royal.
Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the receptionist who was very efficient in his job and friendly to provide us with some useful tips. The overall appearance of the hotel was more than acceptable– clean and well-kept. Room perhaps on a downside are very very tiny, as well as the bathroom. That is not a complain, since it is an absolute standard for Paris hotels. But king-sized bed was very comfortable.
Overall, for our short Paris stay, Timhotel Palais Royal was a perfect base to explore Paris and definitely exceeded its 2 star rating.

My wife and I spent over a week at the hotel in early June and were very pleased. The location is as central as you can get; 10-15 minute walks in any direction lead to the Louvre, Palais Royal, Notre Dame, Saint Eustache Cathedral and Forum des Halles, Opera and the market street of Montorgueil. Metro stop is a short block away. The room was small but very comfortable, with clean and comfy bed, spotless bath and toilet facilities (with bathtub), and since our room was interior, as silent as a tomb, with no interior noise at all! The staff was always friendly, and even let us store food items that needed refrigeration back in their kitchen area. And to top it off, 50 yards away, across the tiny Place des Petits Peres, was a great boulangerie, Au Panetier, where we had coffee and wonderful pastries every morning, with the most cheerful and friendly service. Vive La France!!! (and the Timhotel PRL!)

I stayed at the hotel twice in 2002 and friends have stayed there at least 4 times. At all times, the welcome was warm and the quality consistent. I would agree with the other reviews. The location is the best thing. The shower is more than miniscule. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and have not found any comparable values with such a good location in Paris. There are several great places to eat nearby if you search carefully, and even a mini-market open on Sundays nearby. It is an excellent value as long as you realize that the rooms will be very small (not surprising in Paris.)

This is a small hotel right one short block from the Bourse, a five minute walk from the Louvre . The room was small but the double bed firm and comfortable, sheets crisp and clean, towels not too thin, and hot water was hot. No refrigerator in room. Shower stall was a little small, so try to get a room with a bathtub if you can. Breakfast ,simple yet adequate, was included in our VERY cheap package from Air France Holidays.
