We stayed here in Feb, yes when it snowed! The hotel was nice but busy, the lobby was always full of people, the few lifts were struggling to cope with everyone trying to get on board. The breakfast was efficient, but basic.
The staff were generally friendly - however the walls were quite thin where we stayed - and errrm we were entertained into the small hours by a couple in the adjoining room.
The hotel is very central, if not in the most peaceful areas, but it felt safe wandering around even late at night.

Our stay at the Titania Hotel was marred by faulty air conditioning and an argumentative hotel staff who refused to believe there was a problem. The first night we stayed there, the room was a stifling 26 degrees celsius! We told the hotel desk clerk twice and he insisted there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with the hotel's 6-month old air conditionig system. He said to check that our window was closed all the way; we went back upstairs and noticed that the sensor on the window, which controls the a/c in the room, was missing. We told the same hotel clerk and he said he would have the repairman check it out but he never did. We complained again that evening, and the next day, but they would not change our room. We couldn't open the window because we were on the street side and the traffic was incredibly loud. The second night we got a more receptive clerk who said to give it some more time and he would change our room if necessary. He also sent the repairman to check it out; he insisted it was fine until my husband pointed out the missing sensor, then shrugged and left the room. As it was nearly midnight and we were leaving at 5 a.m. we chose to stay in the room, but I really regretted it when we woke up in an even hotter 28 degrees (C). A call to my travel agent resolved the problem for our stay at Titania on the second half of our trip. This time the a/c worked fabulously and we had a nice quiet room with a balcony. Overall the Titania is not too bad, except it's undergoing tremendous construction. The entire facade is under scaffolding and occassionally the elevator didn't work but they seem to be working out the kinks. The location isn't bad, just a (very clean!) one-stop subway ride to Syntagma Square and the Plaka where all the action is (and where I'd probably chose to stay if I return to Greece). The price (118 per night for a double) didn't seem overly pricey for a major city at the beginning of tourist season. The breakfast buffet is terrific and your coffee cup will always be fullomantic atmosphere and an amazing view of the Parthenon. My suggestion, if you stay at Titania: request a room away from the street, and simply don't allow the clerks to treat you rudely if there is a problem with the a/c, or anything else.

spent three days 7/04. Facility was a good 4 star. Clean, neat and you could tell it was upgraded in the past few years. The windows were double paned and very effective at keeping the city noise levels down. It's located about halfway between Syntagma and Omonia squares and is central to just about everything including the Metro (which is fabulous). Breakfast (included) was good by European standards, about average by US standards (We North Americans are used to a different preparation of some items). Staff was courteous and helpful. I'd return in a heartbeat.
