My first trip to Spain and this hotel was wonderful. The welcoming lobby and the marvelous buffet was all you could want. The room was great and I had a wonderful stay there.

We were very happy with this hotel, which cost about the same as a 2 star hotel right downtown. It is easily accessible to all major sites and nice to be outside of all the tourist action at night. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet, only downside is a very tight bathroom. The hotel up top was a great bonus as well.

I liked the Macarena, but it does have some issues. The hotel was very clean and very attractive. The rooms are small especially for two big suitcases. The bathroom a tight fit, but that did not bother me. The lobby with tiled fountain was beautiful. The breakfast buffet odd. Lots of food, strange combinations. Like brussel sprouts and olives, along with the normal breakfast foods (both American and European). The front desk staff was so-so. Not very helpful or good with English. The bus stop is right across the street for going into town and right in front of the hotel for coming back. The Macarena Church (across the street) is fabulous. Take 10 minutes and go see it.Air conditioning is typically an issue in Europe (sometimes in America too). We visited on a warm March day and the windows had to be opened. The noise factor is pretty loud. The traffic doesn't cease until around 4 a.m. So get an inside room or earplugs or both.

Not in the center of town but easy to get about. Bus across the street; cabs inexpensive.
Room was small but more than adequate, I was there to spend time in the town, not in my room other than sleep and wash. Beautiful blue marble bathroom with great, large towels. Nice hotel supplied toiletries. Nice closet storage. Wall mirrors made the room seem much lasrger and brighter than it was. Space was cramped before we brought our luggage in (two carry-on bags). One fit in the closet, the other went on the luggage rack which meant we couldn't get to the window without climbing over the chair placed between the desk and lamp table which was at the end of the nightstand. Get the idea? Room nicely decorated, just a lot of stuff.
Excellent breakfast buffet. OK evening buffet, much was overcooked or had been on the steam table too long. The cold dishes were very good and there was plenty of fresh fruit. Small bar off the lobby - pleasant. Some restaurant personel really rude! Service incident reported after first dinner. Next day maitre'd glared but said nothing.
Third day he smiled, maybe he knew we were leaving. A number of tourist groups were staying there plus a convention of Spanish cable communication people. Also saw airline crews.
Check in staff very nice. Bar staff pleasant.
Ancient Roman wall and Macarena Basilica across street to right. Short bus trip to Triana and ceramic factories.
There is lots of street noise but windows blocked out most. Agree with prior revews about hearing water in bathrooms but there was so much rain we were happy it was just the sound and we weren't wet.
Would be happy to return when the rain stops.
